Getting back on track

It’s Monday! It’s the beginning of the new week and it’s time to start anew. Remember, there are good things about Mondays. There are a couple of things I have gotten away from that I think are very important and I don’t know why I stopped going them.

The first thing is setting weekly and monthly goals. The monthly goal post was something I did regularly on the blog but I got away from it for some reason. Maybe I thought no one was interested in my goals or just thought it was a meaningless post…and that may actually be the case. But those posts were for me so I do need to get back into that habit.

I guess it’s time to shift gears and get some new goals going through the system, but I just need to figure out what those are. I guess the biggest goal is stay healthy and positive.

Last week I talked about how I had taken a slight detour in life and how I had a moment of change. I’m happy to report that last week was much better.

Hot in the #gym today which made my 3 mile walk a little harder. I cranked up the incline and went for a walk. A great way to start off the weekend. What are your weekend plans? #fitfluential #ffcheckin #sweatpink #cardio #webeatfat #weightloss #weightlos
I hit the gym most the week and I even did some weight training which has left me a little sore. Working out was never the problem, right?

My food choices were much better last week. I stuck with the plan and enjoyed a taco salad all week long. And no, it doesn’t bother me eating the same thing over and over. At least I know what I’m getting and I’m not disappointed. See, there’s some positivity there. I didn’t get off track which is the most important thing.

Willie and I did check out a new vietnamese resturant in town. The food was good but the service was less than desirable. I didn’t know lunch was going to be a half day event. But the place is VERY new and they are probably working on the kinks so I won’t write them off yet. It may have taken us a long time to get our food, but it was good.

I really only wanted to go there because they had buns. The buns were good but nothing can compare to the buns we had in New York City but this was a nice alternative.

And we also enjoyed some bison burgers. Apparently it’s the other red meat and it’s a leaner cut of beef. I enjoyed my burger sans the cheese with grilled onions and mushrooms.

It was a good week that leaves my optimistic for the future.  Everything hasn’t been that horrible.  It’s also my birthday week which excites me a ton, but I get the sneaking suspicion that Willie is the only person who cares about my 35th birthday.  This is a big birthday for me because you know, I’m going to have to start checking a new box and there are a lot of changes happening right now.  But I’ll get to spend the day with Willie and that is all that matters.  I’m excited to celebrate another year of life.

What are your goals for the week?
