When they say you can’t

When they say you can’t, I think you can. Please fight back and do what you want to do!

I’ve been a little stressed and it’s been reflected on the blog because I’ve been a little busy.  I’ve been busy because they said I couldn’t.  When I got pregnant people told me I wouldn’t work out.  People told me I wouldn’t run.  People told me I couldn’t travel. People told me I wouldn’t do a lot of things. When they said I couldn’t, that lit a fire under my butt.

My baby is almost 4 months old and things have been different, but I won’t necessarily say things have been difficult.  I’ve had to get creative but I’ve always managed to get things done.

People said I wouldn’t be able to work out…as much.  People said I wouldn’t have time for this.  I’ve managed to work out at least 5 days since I’ve been released to exercise.

Half marathon is done. And I did it 30 minutes faster than #rnrdal 3 weeks ago. This is today's #progress report. I may be getting back into this #running thing I love so much. • • • • • #fitmoms #instarunner #runhappy #everymilecounts #motherrunner #runn

People said I wouldn’t be able to run.  I’m not saying that it’s been easy but I’ve been able to get out there to run…a lot.  I’ve done two half marathons, two 10ks, and several 5ks.  I did it.

Taught my class today. It wasn't horrible. People looked like they enjoyed their workout! That's all I can ask for. Thanks to everyone who shared words of encouragement. Now I just need to find that @fitbit I lost this week! • • • • • #webeatfat #fitfluen

People said I wouldn’t return to teaching my fitness class.  This is the latest thing I’ve had to overcome. I taught my first class last week.  I was stressed about it because it was a Group Ride class and keeping the beat is something special.  But I did fine.

Don’t let people tell you that you can’t do something,  If you listen to those words, then you will never accomplish anything.  Someone will have something to say about anything that you do.  Don’t let those people be obstacles to your life. There are people who want to support you in life.  There are people who will want to bring you down.  But there are people out there who can’t relate or understand what you’re trying to accomplish and can stop you dead in your tracks.  The only voice you need to listen to you is yours and sometimes you have to ignore that voice.  (Fear is a crazy thing!)

You can do anything you put your mind to so please don’t forget that!  I let all of those negative words fuel me into accomplishing the things I wanted to do.

Progress will come

Progress will come

Progress is moving forward, moving toward achieving a goal.  Progress is always welcome but doesn’t always come easy. There are a few things I am currently working on: Trying to lose my pregnancy weight. Find the balance and time to get my workouts in on a consistent basis. Getting back into running…at the pace I’m more familiar running. There have been times when I’ve felt completely helpless during this time and there have been the moments when I thought I was taking steps backward.  When progress doesn’t show its face, its hard to find the motivation to keep moving forward.…

Do what you can

Do what you can

Happy Monday! Now is the time to do what you can no matter the level or the time behind it. I’m going through a humbling experience right now because my fitness level obviously isn’t the same as what it was 10 months ago. It’s not like I’m starting all over, but I have taken a few steps backward. Before y’all start hitting the comments about how I just had a baby or I should be blessed, I want to shut it down. I know I just had a baby and I am beyond blessed for my baby. That is not…

Monday Motivation: Truth vs. Perspective

Monday Motivation: Truth vs. Perspective

Happy Monday!  I know it’s a little late in the day but it’s never too late to get a little motivation on your Monday.  I wanted to send a great message for the day and the only thing I could think about was a message of truth. Always be truthful with yourself.  Why spend the time lying to yourself when other people will do that for you?  The truth is not always easy to handle but knowing it can change your world.  You are the only person you can trust completely so always be truthful with yourself.  People will tell…

Motivation Monday: Patience is key

Motivation Monday: Patience is key

The year is winding down and it’s the time to reflect on all the great things you did this year.  I truly hope it’s been a great year for you and you have made the progress you desired at the start of the year.  Even if you didn’t reach all of your goals doesn’t mean it’s still not going to happen.  Patience is key and things take time, a person just needs to stay the course. I know what you’re thinking, “it’s easier said than done.” That’s the absolute truth, it’s easy to think those things but putting it into…

Motivation to get back on track

Motivation to get back on track

It’s the holidays and people seem to get off track during this time.  For me, I’m dealing with a big event coming my way.  My focus has just been getting something in my tummy and I’ve been GREAT for the most part.  But with our little girl on the way, I’m trying to get back on track so I can stay healthy and get lose this baby weight. I’ve learned that in the past making a plan is the most effective way to accomplish a goal. It’s easier to stay focused and on track that way. I know it worked…

Pregnancy and the fitness instructor

Pregnancy and the fitness instructor

I wanted to write this post last Thursday but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I stopped teaching my cycle class last week. I’ve heard the stories of people teaching until their 8th month or teaching right up until the end. I made a promise to myself that I wouldn’t stay in that long. The truth: I could have kept teaching my cycle class, but I chose to leave for one reason. Yes everyone knows that I’m pregnant and is very understanding about it all. As time progressed, I knew I couldn’t keep up the way I once did.…

The struggle is real but…

The struggle is real but…

The struggle is real to workout, eat right and just stay focused.  But there are other things in life that we all struggle with that sometimes makes things seems harder than usual, right?  I’m here to tell you to not let the struggle take over you.  The struggle is real but you can get through it. Sometimes we see struggle as a sign of weakness in ourselves, but we must realize that struggle is a natural part of life.  Without the struggle, we wouldn’t appreciate the joys of accomplishments.  Without the struggle, we definitely wouldn’t look back at the road…

Transform your thinking to be grateful

Transform your thinking to be grateful

My blogging schedule has been interuptted by the Olympics. I love the Olympics so hard that I spend all my free time watching it.  Diving, archery, rowing, fencing, volleyball (surprisingly), gymnastics and weightlifting have been occupying my time.  I’m sorry for all the delays.  This post should have been up yesterday.  Now back to blogging. I don’t know about you, but I sometimes spend so much dwelling on the things I haven’t done or don’t have.  It can really set your mind back and it lessens the accomplishments that I have achieved.  I blogged about how pregnancy messed with weight…

The great things about Fitbloggin 2016

The great things about Fitbloggin 2016

My weekend was spent at blogging and social media conference, Fitbloggin, in Indianapolis.  I attended this conference two years ago in Savannah and was hooked.  This year I was invited back to the conference to speak about the highs and lows of weight loss.  Although I was speaking, I attended the conference to learn new things, to grow as a blogger and just become an overall better person.   Pre-conference excursions.  The early bird conference attendees could attend an outing to Lifetime Fitness.  My plane landed a bit late so I missed the facility tour but I still got to…

The time I tried something new for lunch

The time I tried something new for lunch

If you haven’t noticed, I’m a creature of habit.  We eat the same thing all week for dinner, if it’s good I’ll suggest that we have it again the next week.  I’ll eat the same things for lunch too.  It doesn’t bother me. Most people don’t like leftovers, but I love for them.  I guess there’s a little comfort in knowing what I’m getting.  What’s the point on wasting calories on something you don’t like?  I DO understand there is something a little bit wrong with that, but my weekends are for experimenting…not my weekdays. Yesterday I strayed from the…
