I don’t know if any of you remember, but Willie and I started our weight loss journey on the treadmill. We scheduled out the time to walk on the treadmill for roughly 35 minutes a day.
I know the treadmill gets a bad wrap, especially by me, because people claim it to be boring. But the truth is: you can get a great cardio workout on a treadmill. Do I enjoy running 15 miles on a treadmill? Nope, but I do like walking on the treadmill. It’s easier to keep pace and to keep going. Sometimes just walking in the ‘hood or with a friend doesn’t exactly lend itself to getting the heart rate up and that’s why the treadmill is a great thing.
In honor of Willie’s birthday today, I thought I would share a treadmill workout with you. This is a great way to get some variety and spice in your treadmill workout. This is a beginner treadmill workout for people who are just getting started on their fitness journey but can be used for anyone too for a nice change of pace. It’s a 35 minute workout to walk those pounds off!
My suggestions on the workout is bring the speed down to your max at the 5.5 areas. 5.5 is running and if you can’t do that for a minute, you should adjust the workout to work for you. Remember this isn’t set in stone. It’s your workout and you should make it work for you. If you can’t reach the 5.5 speed, then that just gives you something to work toward.
I’ve also set the incline to 1% on most of this workout to give you a little more of a challenge. You may not even notice it but this will help with making it feel like you’re walking outside.
I hope you enjoy this beginner treadmill workout and feel free to tag me in your pictures when you’ve finished the workout. I want to know that it’s helpful to you. Follow me on Instagram and twitter!
Don’t forget to send Willie some good birthday wishes!
