Monday Motivation: Truth vs. Perspective

Happy Monday!  I know it’s a little late in the day but it’s never too late to get a little motivation on your Monday.  I wanted to send a great message for the day and the only thing I could think about was a message of truth.

Untitled

Always be truthful with yourself.  Why spend the time lying to yourself when other people will do that for you?  The truth is not always easy to handle but knowing it can change your world.  You are the only person you can trust completely so always be truthful with yourself.  People will tell you many things but that doesn’t make it true.  Opinions will come from every direction, take them in but don’t take them to heart.

But there are lessons in what we perceive is the truth.  There are times, especially right now, that I look in the mirror to see something that just isn’t right.  Right now, I’m the heaviest I’ve been in 6 years and it bugs the crap out of me.  But I have to remember I just had a baby almost 6 weeks ago.  It’s a hard pill to swallow sometimes but that doesn’t mean what it thinks it means.  With weight loss, I learned that I would never look the way I “thought” I should look or do the things that I “thought” I should do.  It’s really all about how you look at the situation. I really should approach the situation from just having a child instead of being the heaviest I’ve been in 6 years.  This is my lesson to you today.

Distinguish between opinion and fact so you will always know the truth.  Don’t get bogged down in the things that don’t matter or aren’t true.  Perception does influence our truth so don’t let that get in the way of what you’re trying to accomplish or the goals that you might set.

Things are not normal

Things are not normal

The best blogs are the ones when you write about what you know so that is what I have to write about right now.  Things are not normal right now.  I wish I could blog about workouts, meal prepping and healthy meals, or even just weight loss.  But I can’t do that because life is just different right now. I am extremely blessed to have a child.  She is my world and I’m thankful every minute of the day.  This is definitely a place in life I never thought I would be.  Honestly, I had given up the possibility of…

Motivation Monday: Patience is key

Motivation Monday: Patience is key

The year is winding down and it’s the time to reflect on all the great things you did this year.  I truly hope it’s been a great year for you and you have made the progress you desired at the start of the year.  Even if you didn’t reach all of your goals doesn’t mean it’s still not going to happen.  Patience is key and things take time, a person just needs to stay the course. I know what you’re thinking, “it’s easier said than done.” That’s the absolute truth, it’s easy to think those things but putting it into…

Motivation to get back on track

It’s the holidays and people seem to get off track during this time.  For me, I’m dealing with a big event coming my way.  My focus has just been getting something in my tummy and I’ve been GREAT for the most part.  But with our little girl on the way, I’m trying to get back on track so I can stay healthy and get lose this baby weight. I’ve learned that in the past making a plan is the most effective way to accomplish a goal. It’s easier to stay focused and on track that way. I know it worked…

Motivation Monday: Concentrate on what you have

Motivation Monday: Concentrate on what you have

Happy Monday!  I hope things are starting off right for you today.  This post will be short but I wanted to share with you a message of concentrating on what you have and value your worth.  I’ve gone through a period of time of not realizing my worth and questioning things that haven’t happened in my life.  What I’ve learned is that is a waste of time.  Don’t make that mistake. It’s important to be thankful for everything that you are and currently possess instead of longing for the things you are not and don’t have. Those things will come…

The struggle is real but…

The struggle is real but…

The struggle is real to workout, eat right and just stay focused.  But there are other things in life that we all struggle with that sometimes makes things seems harder than usual, right?  I’m here to tell you to not let the struggle take over you.  The struggle is real but you can get through it. Sometimes we see struggle as a sign of weakness in ourselves, but we must realize that struggle is a natural part of life.  Without the struggle, we wouldn’t appreciate the joys of accomplishments.  Without the struggle, we definitely wouldn’t look back at the road…

Nothing is impossible

Nothing is impossible

It’s been said that Willie and I accomplished the impossible by losing so much weight and working hard to keep it off. I never saw it was something as impossible. I never saw it as something that we couldn’t accomplish in time. I never saw it as something that we couldn’t achieve. Nothing is impossible. Some things may take extra steps for achievement or may take longer than we may like, but you will still get there. Think of it as a ladder, you start at the bottom and work your way to the top one step at a time.…

Transform your thinking to be grateful

Transform your thinking to be grateful

My blogging schedule has been interuptted by the Olympics. I love the Olympics so hard that I spend all my free time watching it.  Diving, archery, rowing, fencing, volleyball (surprisingly), gymnastics and weightlifting have been occupying my time.  I’m sorry for all the delays.  This post should have been up yesterday.  Now back to blogging. I don’t know about you, but I sometimes spend so much dwelling on the things I haven’t done or don’t have.  It can really set your mind back and it lessens the accomplishments that I have achieved.  I blogged about how pregnancy messed with weight…

My pledge to my blog readers

My pledge to my blog readers

It’s time for me to face reality.  I’ve failed all of you.  Once upon a time I planned out blog posts.  I talked about relevant topics.  I actually put the effort in and then something happened.  I started traveling more and doing quick fixes.  I stopped actually making time for the blog in respects to self-improvement, eating and just overall fitness.  I wish I could say planning was the problem, but I know I felt like I lost my voice along the way. Willie and I gained a lot of publicity in a short period of time, again, which kind…

What’s the first step to weight loss?

What’s the first step to weight loss?

I’ve been getting a lot of e-mails lately about taking the steps to weight loss.  I don’t know where all the new people popped up from, but I’m happy to have you here.  I’ve talked about the weight loss journey many times but I’m going to take a different approach to the topic today.  It’s an ever changing and growing process and I think I have something to add to the subject. So here is my first step to weight loss: Be confident. Embarking on a weight loss journey is physical and emotional.  It was the hardest and easiest thing…
