Wondering what is the point, is the point.

What’s the point? When things aren’t going my way, this is how I feel. It’s easy to question why to continue the path or even why to keep trying at something. Wondering what is the point, is the point.

I won’t sugar coat things for you. Things haven’t been going my way. Every time I feel like I’ve made it over one hurdle then I feel like I’m hit with another roadblock. Life is a tricky thing and navigating it gets rough for me. I’m a sensitive person. I have a hard exterior, but I do take on other people’s pain? hurt? sorrow? distress? This sometimes leaves me in a place where I don’t know how to deal with my own stuff. I need to remember that I need to take care of myself before taking care of others.

What is the point?

Back to the point, it’s good to wonder about what is the point. This gives a moment of self-reflection and a time to rebalance. It’s those times that I need to take a step back from the situation to see what is really going on.

It’s hard to see the whole picture when I’m stuck in the middle of the situation.

It’s VERY easy to get wrapped up in the day to day and get stuck in the details. It’s hard to see past the problems and not always see the good behind it all. I urge you to take a few moments to stop to see what is the point and why you do the things you do.

I’ve learned these are the moments when I see the good in myself and what I’m trying to accomplish. These are the moments of true realizations of why I chose the path I’ve taken. I’ve also learned these are the moments when I’ve realized I’m wasting my time and having been efficient in tackling a task.

I get wrapped up in routine and patterns and wondering what is the point makes me re-evaluate how I look and deal with certain situations. Sometimes a fresh perspective is needed.  Sometimes it’s just best to step away to wonder what is the point to find the endpoint.  Sometimes the time is needed to make the easy calls or the hard decisions.

What is the point? The point is there is always a solution to a problem. The point is there is never a problem that is too big that you can’t ask for help. The point is that without trying you will never know what could have happened. The point is never to give up but to approach your problem from a different view.

#StreakingwiththeCoolKids

#StreakingwiththeCoolKids

Confession:  I’ve run more in the past nine days than I have in past two months.  I’ve had the baby and things haven’t seemed to be working right since then.  It’s been a struggle for me and I know it’s the culmination of a lot of different things, but I know my running form definitely has something to do with it. Before I always said I didn’t have time to run so it went on the back burner. There’s some truth in that so that’s why I wanted to do this #streakingwiththeCoolKids thing. Basically, I have to run or walk…

Do not stop the journey

Do not stop the journey

Good morning, everyone!  I wanted to start off by saying an apology for leaving the blog bare for so long.  It’s been a week and that’s not for lack of wanting to blog, it’s poor time management.  The to-do list is long and the blog is always the last thing on the list.  The blog is going to be a priority for me in 2018 because it’s something I love to do.  I will better manage my time and get the job done. This is a perfect segway into my topic today about carrying on no matter how long it…

Got weight loss goals?

Got weight loss goals?

It’s the new year and everyone is looking for those posts about achieving weight loss goals.  I’m going to go back to my roots to talk about what started it all, weight loss. My weight loss journey started back on January 6, 2011. I weighed 338 pounds, which I think was my heaviest weight.  I couldn’t be too sure because I never stepped on a scale until the day I started my weight loss journey. Now it’s 2019 and I’ve managed not to gain my weight back.  My biggest weight gain was from pregnancy, but I’m glad to say I’m…

It’s a new year

It’s a new year

I’m not too late to send my New Years message into the universe. There may only be a few hours left on January 1, 2018, but I’m going to get this message out there. I’ve been doing this blogging thing for a long time now and this day in the blogosphere is dedicated to people talking about their goals. It’s a new year, a clean slate. Really, did we all wake up and 2017 disappeared from the world? It doesn’t exactly work like that and it’s ok. As those days tick by we are learning things about ourselves, we are…

Find your passion

Find your passion

The other day I did a Facebook Live to answer questions about weight loss and what not.  If you missed it, I’m sorry but you can go back to watch it.  Someone asked a question about my motivation to keep going and answered about beginning with the end in mind.  This got me thinking a little deeper about what motivates me to do what I do. I found my passions. It’s easy to be motivated when I found something that I love to do.  I fell in love with running and it gave me something to work towards.  Running gave…

Don’t let a one-upper steal your shine

Don’t let a one-upper steal your shine

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone is starting off their week off right.  Monday is a time to start anew and set new goals.  This is your moment, don’t waste it. Today I wanted to talk to you about the one-upper.  I don’t know how to exactly phrase this to you so I’m hoping you will understand. Don’t let these people get you down. Beware of the one-uppers in your life.  The people who are always trying to get the last word.  The people who are always trying to do you one better.  Sometimes it seems like those people are just…

Focus is real

Focus is real

To put this into words is hard because I have been extremely focused lately.  I’m the person you come to for motivation and inspiration to tackle your dreams and lately I’ve just been focused on chasing my own stuff.  It’s been hard for me to put it into words to post here on the blog. I’m still here.  If you follow me on Instagram, you know I’ve still been around. The goals I’ve set for myself aren’t visual goals.  That’s why I haven’t had much to post on Instagram (besides in my stories).  The goals I set are kind of…

Giving up on THE goal

Giving up on THE goal

I’m not going to bury the lead today.  I’m not going to run the Chicago Marathon.  This is the post I’ve been struggling to write for the past two weeks.  This is the reason I’ve disappeared off social media.  This has been a huge source of sadness in my life. It’s like I gave up or something.  But I came to a point where I just physically couldn’t do the training. It makes me sad because this was a goal I set for myself.  I was running for the charity (Action for Healthy Kids) that I love and I still must…

Better than yesterday

Better than yesterday

Happy Monday, y’all! It’s been a minute since I hit the blog because I am trying to get things moving in the right direction. Which is exactly what I want to talk about today: being better than yesterday. That is my motto. That phrase is the thing that gets me up in the morning and motivated in my daily pursuits. Even if it’s just a fraction of change, I want to be better than yesterday. Yesterday, I ran a 10K. I had high hopes for this race, but it didn’t work for me. I thought it was going to rain…

Tips for new runners

Tips for new runners

It’s about time for me to get back on my blogging game and provide some useful information. Right now I’m about to start my marathon training for Chicago so running is on my mind. Plus, I feel like I’m starting all over again so this is the time for me to share tips for new runners since I feel like a new runner…again. 1. Build your base. It’s easy to get super jazzed about running. It’s easy to get caught up in comparing yourself to others. You have to put all of those things aside and just build your base…
