Motivation from within

I’m still stuck on a motivation kick. Maybe because I’m kicking it into high gear because I lacked motivation for the summer. Guess what? Summer is over and it’s time to move on. I don’t want people to go through the serious rutt I was in that essentially ended up wasting my time. It’s not Monday, but I still have a message to motivate.

Here’s the video:

There are a few things I really want you to take away from the video:

1. Motivation should come from within. Yes, when I’m in a certain setting, I push and motivate people to keep working hard. But those people had to motivate themselves to even show up. There is a difference between motivation and inspiration. When it’s personal, you are invested. Failure will mean so much more when your motivation comes from within, therefore, I truly believe you will work harder to achieve whatever it is you’re trying to do.

2. Motivation shouldn’t be dependent on other people. No one will care as much as you will. No one will take ENOUGH notice as you want them to. I’m not saying it won’t mean something to someone else, but it will probably never meet your expectation of happiness/joy/excitement.

3. If you really want it and your have the right mindset, motivation will come. It will flicker and fade, but it will always be there. It will manifest itself into many different things and reasons, but if you’re going after what you really want (and are willing to put in the work) motivation will always be around. There will be times a reassessment/refocus will be needed but getting back on track will always be in the cards. Self evaluation is an important part of the motivation process.

I really help you found this helpful and I was able to articulate well on the blog. I just wanted to make sure the message was simple and clear. Motivation is personal and varies from person to person.

What do you do when the motivation starts to fade away?

The end of the Labor Day

The end of the Labor Day

I hope everyone had a great day today and didn’t have to work. If you did have to work, I’m sorry! I wish I could say I did something eventful for the weekend, but I really didn’t do much. This morning I went for a run. The humidity was killer so I stopped to play in the sprinklers. After that, I decided that I should do some laundry. It’s long overdue. @angelabeatfat is recording videos for her YouTube channel. #production #youtube #video #WBF #film A photo posted by Willie Gillis (@fueledxrunning) on Sep 6, 2015 at 12:46pm PDT I just…

Five Things Friday: 5Qs about weight loss

Hello all! Happy Friday! Sorry about not having a blog up yesterday, I thought I scheduled a post but I guess I was wrong. That means I’m absent minded and it just left you absent. Have no fear, Angie is here with a new post for Friday. I enjoy doing the Five Things Friday thing but I thought I would change it up with a video this week. I am answering five questions about weight loss. The topic will change from week to week but if you have a question about anything, please feel free to ask me. It will…

WIAW: Look inside our fridge & eating animal protein again

It’s another Wednesday which means it’s time for WIAW (What I Ate Wednesday). I’m trying to do different things with food post so this week I’m taking you inside of our fridge. This way I can show you what we’re eating. Take a look at the video: Willie and I have switched off our vegetarian diet for one very good reason. We were coming up protein deficient because it became harder and harder for us to find the foods we needed in our city. The egg shortage has become a big issue and there was never any tofu at the…

WIAW: This week’s eats and the leftover

Hello all.  This week I’m linking up with Peas and Crayongs for WIAW to share what we are eating this week. This week it was all about the leftovers.  I hate wasting food.  The prices at the grocery store seems to be rising so wasting the moolah on food just makes me upset.  Luckily, we had plenty of stuff leftover from last week that I was able to make new this week.  In my opinion, I think it turned out better this week. There is video: Here is a closer look at what we prepped this week: Breakfast is always the same…

Video this week: drink more water, get motivated and a road trip

Happy Thursday everyone!  I didn’t do any meal prep this week because it was all up to Willie so I don’t have a food video for you this week.  I’ve been working really hard on these videos and it’s a learning process.  It’s something I feel is adding more to the blog. Here are the videos this week: Drink more water…and add some flava! Keep your fitness appointment because it’s just as important as anything else in your life. Watch and get motivated! And my weekend road trip to Mississippi/Alabama by myself. Boo! Have you tried a water enhancer? Did…

Keep your fitness appointment

Keep your fitness appointment

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I went to visit my best friends to celebrate a very special birthday.  I hadn’t seen them in forever so it was so great.  Sadly, I didn’t get many pictures but I got a few. The key to life is to surround yourself with good people.  I think I’m winning in this department, finally. I did video…but it’s not ready yet.  The weekend video will be up on Wednesday.  Today’s video is about motivation and keeping your fitness appointments. This morning Willie and I went to the gym.  I did a…

The loaf that fell apart and mixed greens recipe

On Sunday, we actually had time to prep out some meals.  It was nice being able to do that so I guess it’s fine the weekend was pretty uneventful. I’ve been dying to make a curried lentil loaf for a few weeks now, but I never had enough time to actually make one or I didn’t buy the right stuff from the store.  Basically bad planning kept me from making a lentil loaf. Here’s a video showing a little of the meal prep this week and I give you tips!  Watch for the tips! So what exactly is the lentil…

Video: Grocery haul and a lazy meal prep

Happy Thursday!  I assured you more video was coming and here it is.  Today I’m presenting you with this weeks grocery haul and a seriously LAZY meal prep. Warning this really isn’t how we do it every week but we returned from out of town a little later than planned and this is what you got! And it’s kind of sad that even with a list, we didn’t purchase everything we need. A more complete meal prep session will be coming at you next week but for now, enjoy the video. Just for the recap of what we are eating…
