#TourdeAngie resumes with Snickers

Hello all! I think I am ready to make my return to blogging. I have been going through a lot of things lately but I think I need to just come back. There will never be a right time and my mind will never really be free of stress. These are probably the moments that I need to be blogging.

New car, straight hair, and a road trip. On my way to collect a new state. Georgia it's going down this weekend at the Snickers Marathon. #tourdeangie #teamhealthykids #teamnuun #weightlossjourney #webeatfat #werunsocial #travelgram #roadtrip #marathonman

Yesterday, I hit the road for Georgia. Thank goodness for having friends that live at the half way point of life. I was able to drive halfway yesterday and finish it up today. I will be making the full drive back on Sunday so please keep me in your thoughts.

I also got my hair did this week.  I was tired of having clown hair so I did something about it.  That’s a whole other blog post for next week.  The struggle is real and it’s worth talking about.

I arrived here in Albany, GA this afternoon. Let me tell you, this trip was filled with the back roads of Florida and Georgia. AND I completely forgot about the time change. I knew I would change time but it just kind of slipped my mind. I guess I’ll be prepared for next weekend too.

Snickers Marathon

I went to pick up my race packet not too long ago and there was a ton of Snickers swag. I’m actually really surprised. I even heard people talking about the post race snickers stuff too. This should be very interesting. Someone has already taking possession of all of my snickers swag so I’m sorry I can’t share. I’m not a huge fan but I did have a snickers mini today.

You know what that means?  Tomorrow I am going after state #16 with Georgia.  I bailed out of the RnR New Orleans marathon for this reason so I’m looking for a good result.  I was super hard on myself this week for that, but I know it was for a better reason.  I am on a quest to run the 50 states and that is what is important to me right now.  The quest continues.

So what are my race day goals?  I think I really need to get back to this.

A Goal: To finish.  I’m not going to be super picky about this because that just seems to be the theme of this year.  Plus, I haven’t run a lick this week for my hair reasons.

B Goal: To not get dehydrated.  This seems to be an on-going problem right now because we seemed to have skipped a season this year and it’s a bit warmer.  There was no winter; we went straight to spring and I don’t like it.  I like cold weather running because it’s made for PRs but none of that is happening this year.

C Goal: To finish and be able to walk around to enjoy the Mardi Gras festival at the end.  I don’t want to come out injured or anything because I’m going for state #17 next weekend.  Gotta play it smart.

Those are my goals for this race.  I’m really looking forward to running this race and seeing what this city has to offer.  You know my preferred way to see the city is on foot and this is going to be a great opportunity.

What are you doing this weekend?

Being too hard on myself

Being too hard on myself

Yesterday I threw myself a pity party. I ran two half marathons this weekend, I should be proud about that.  I’m upset because one of those was supposed to be a marathon.  I’m complaining about nothing.  Don’t judge me.  But I am hard on myself and it clouds my judgement.  I really should know better. I am being too hard on myself. Maybe I’ve set the bar too high or I need to manage expectations. When I made the decision at mile 6, I knew it was the right decision.  When I rolled through mile 8, I was feeling better…

Weight loss: lost and confused

Weight loss: lost and confused

I strive for transparency here on the blog.  Notice the posts have been few and far between from here lately?  It’s not from lack of wanting to blog because I want to.  I’m really just going through some things. Willie and I have struggled to find exactly who we are.  I know he’s talked about it a bit on his blog and I guess it’s time for me to open up. I’m the type of person when things aren’t really that great…I tend to disappear.  I’m very introspective.  I overthink and at some points I overshare.  Lately, I’ve just been…

The Total Life Changes Tea Detox Fraud

The Total Life Changes Tea Detox Fraud

I’ve spent many hours trying to track down who is spreading the message that Willie and I used some TLC (Total Life Changing) Tea as part of our diet plan. I’m here to bust this right open to let you know that I don’t even know what that mess is. We’ve never used it and I would definitely never endorse it. I only endorse and/or represent brands I use on the regular. Otherwise, I’m not being true to myself and I’m definitely not being honest with you guys. Big thanks to Robin for letting me know this was out there…

I’ve still been working out and sticking to my schedule.  Getting out and getting my exercise has been mone of the most important things in my life right now.  It’s been a major priority and just been trying to stick with a schedule.  And I’ve really been enjoying teaching my cycle classes this month.  Maybe it’s all the…

The struggle is real

The struggle is real

I wish I could tell you how many times I’ve sat down to write a blog post and then nothing came out.  At this point, it’s too many to count.  I love this blog and I love helping people with my words but sometimes it’s hard to write here. The struggle is real. Do you care about what I eat on the regular?  I feel like I’m pretty boring and eat the same things.  Do you care what is in my fridge?  Do you care that I love to run?  Do you really want to know that I got up…

Five Things Friday: Eating out and staying healthy

Five Things Friday: Eating out and staying healthy

I’m bringing back the five things Friday because it was something I enjoyed but kind of got away from in the past.  This Friday I’m talking about all the places I don’t mind eating out without completely blowing my healthy caloric intake.  Sometimes I do indulge but for the most part I’m trying to stay with what makes me comfortable.  When I’m on a road trip or just out and I need to eat on the go these are some places I really enjoy. Subway.  This isn’t a secret.  When I’m on the road and there’s nothing I comfortable with…

My week in recovery

My week in recovery

I’m probably being too cautious with my recovery but I don’t want to be injured again where I shouldn’t be running.  That’s a very scary things.  I felt like I lost my best friend and I don’t like losing my best friends.  It hurts and it’s sad.  No more sad faces in my life. Welcome to my week in recovery. So I’ve been really weird about my running.  I haven’t ran this week since I ran a lot last weekend.  I’m running the Austin Marathon in 3 weeks and I really want to do well.  Last year, I bailed out…

Water drinking experiment: out of sight out of …

Water drinking experiment: out of sight out of mind?

It’s winter.  It’s coldish and the need to drink water has lessened.  I’m not trying to cool my body off from heat and I’m just plain not thirsty.  These are the times it’s very trying to achieve my daily water goals.  I’ve been failing at this lately. I had my very own water drinking experiment. I always tell people to put water on their desk at work.  I use to do it all the time but then I stopped or I would place my bottle across the room.  It was never within reach.  When it was far away from me,…

Updates on a long week, fitness & weight loss

Updates on a long week, fitness & weight loss

It’s been a very busy week. It’s launch week at the gym so I’ve been teaching and trying to attend classes as much as possible. It’s always exciting to get people excited about working out and trying some new stuff.  It’s not exciting to not want to sit on bike by the week.  Plus, I’ve been really busy with work.  My mom had a knee replacement surgery during Thanksgiving but she hasn’t been cleared to drive so I also need to make sure she’s taken care of in the meantime.  It’s just been a lot at one time. And of…
