Friday Five (on Saturday): Motivation Edition

Yesterday was a crazy, long day for me so I didn’t have a chance to get my blog post done.  I hope you don’t mind that I’m posting a Friday Five on a Saturday.  I hope everyone had a great week.  I’ve been watching the Olympics all week long and it’s great to see people going after their dreams.  It’s been a good week so I have no complaints.  I ate my prepped meals and really enjoyed what we had for dinner.  See, it does pay to try something new.

On to my list.  I got some new stuff to give me a little bit of motivation in different areas of my life.  I will admit that some days I’m just lacking the motivation to get all the things done on my list.  I’m hoping these little things will keep my mind positive and looking into a bright future.

I don’t drink enough water.  Lately, it’s been really hard for me to get my water in.  I don’t know if it’s because it’s been cooler but something just isn’t right.  I love Hydroflask and I’ve been using it for almost a year.  I think it’s perfect to take the gym for a workout and everyday life.  (There is no way I would run with this bottle because it’s too heavy.) I ordered my custom Hydroflask a couple of weeks ago and it finally arrived.  Isn’t it pretty?  I customized the colors to my liking.  I think that’s the coolest thing because I know it’s my Hydroflask.  Hopefully, a little color motivation will get me drinking a little bit more water.

I love my Headsweats hats and there are new designs on the site.  I was so excited to see new patterns and colors in the new collection.  This made my heart jump!  I can’t wait to take this on spin in the gym and on my runs.  At the beginning of the year, I received some bad news from Headsweats.  I’ve been an ambassador for three years, but I didn’t get picked this time around.  This was very heartbreaking but that doesn’t mean that I’m going to stop reppin’ the company and gear I love so much.  I don’t have a promo code to share with you but I think these hats are stylish and you should buy.

If you’ve been reading the blog, then you know I love socks. I am proud to say I am a Pro Compression ambassador. Everyone always comments on my socks during races so now you know where I get them from. A new pair of socks always makes me feel great and helps me get up at 3:45am to get my workout in. The more color the better. This month Pro released the green/white jailbreak and the pink/black jailbreak sock. You can get 55% off using the code BREAK at checkout on either pair of those socks. This is always my first pair of mid socks (the center pair) and I love them. I wear them for cycling and I’ll probably wear them during the colder months because sometimes it’s hard for me to get the over-the-calf socks over my running tights.

The Momentum motivation wraps give me life in the best way possible. These are just little reminders of positivity in life. These are the things I need to get from the beginning of the day to end. There are moments I feel overwhelmed or just lacking, so having this on my wrist as a reminder that “I can and I will” or “You are enough” really does make a difference. Sometimes it is the little things that can make a difference and I know these bracelets have made a difference in my life.

Time to switch gears a little bit.  I love Bolthouse Farms dressings because they are low in calories and fat.  There are so many flavor options, even ones I don’t know about.  Blue Cheese has always been my favorite until I saw this pop up at the grocery store the other day.  I can’t get enough of it.  It’s so good. I like balsamic vinegarette but I love this creamy version. These taste better than those high-fat dressings.  You can have the flavors you want without feeling guilty about it.  These dressings are so good.  Give them a try.

So that’s it.  Hopefully, I shared something with you that you might want to buy yourself.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend and share any of the things you are loving this week.  Maybe I’ll find something that I will like in your loves of the week.

What are you loving this week?

Do you love yourself?

Do you love yourself?

Happy Valentine’s Day!  It’s a day of love.  It’s a day to share your love for other people but I don’t want you to forget yourself.  We always talk about the people we love, the things we love to do, and many more things. I hope you had a wonderful day and enjoyed the love. I spent the day working and hanging out with my precious little girl. I definitely felt the love all day long. It’s a nice feeling to have, but it also got me thinking about something else. But how many times do we talk about the… View Post

A non running week

A non running week

I have declared this a non-running week and it sucks.  I’m already having a really awesome week so this just tops it off. I have a perfectly valid reason for not running this week, but it doesn’t make it any better.  My hip flexor is pretty torn up and I need it to heal.  I haven’t really run without pain since having the baby but it’s something that is manageable.  I thought I was hitting my running stride in December and then this happened. A couple of weeks ago I ran the Louisiana half marathon and the quarter marathon the day… View Post

Reasons to slow down while eating

Reasons to slow down while eating

Yesterday, I was traumatized because I saw my life flashing before my eyes.  I simply wanted to eat lunch with my daughter and it turned into a nightmare situation. I got some food stuck in my throat.  I could still breathe and mumble a bit, but I knew it was just a matter of seconds before those positive things would turn into a negative. I really thought I was going to die and it scared the crap of me.  There were many things that ran through my mind, but they all revolved around my sweet baby girl. Eventually, the food… View Post

Breaking my Hurricane Harvey silence

Breaking my Hurricane Harvey silence

I know it’s been awhile since my last blog. I will not lie dealing with Hurricane Harvey has been one of the most stressful things I’ve had to deal with in a long time. This time was different because I have a small child to usher through this situation. I am very lucky my home was not flooded. It was really just luck that it didn’t because MOST of my neighborhood took water in their homes. All I can say is we got lucky and right now we’re just trying to bridge the gap of making life work again, after… View Post
