Wondering what is the point, is the point.

What’s the point? When things aren’t going my way, this is how I feel. It’s easy to question why to continue the path or even why to keep trying at something. Wondering what is the point, is the point.

I won’t sugar coat things for you. Things haven’t been going my way. Every time I feel like I’ve made it over one hurdle then I feel like I’m hit with another roadblock. Life is a tricky thing and navigating it gets rough for me. I’m a sensitive person. I have a hard exterior, but I do take on other people’s pain? hurt? sorrow? distress? This sometimes leaves me in a place where I don’t know how to deal with my own stuff. I need to remember that I need to take care of myself before taking care of others.

What is the point?

Back to the point, it’s good to wonder about what is the point. This gives a moment of self-reflection and a time to rebalance. It’s those times that I need to take a step back from the situation to see what is really going on.

It’s hard to see the whole picture when I’m stuck in the middle of the situation.

It’s VERY easy to get wrapped up in the day to day and get stuck in the details. It’s hard to see past the problems and not always see the good behind it all. I urge you to take a few moments to stop to see what is the point and why you do the things you do.

I’ve learned these are the moments when I see the good in myself and what I’m trying to accomplish. These are the moments of true realizations of why I chose the path I’ve taken. I’ve also learned these are the moments when I’ve realized I’m wasting my time and having been efficient in tackling a task.

I get wrapped up in routine and patterns and wondering what is the point makes me re-evaluate how I look and deal with certain situations. Sometimes a fresh perspective is needed.  Sometimes it’s just best to step away to wonder what is the point to find the endpoint.  Sometimes the time is needed to make the easy calls or the hard decisions.

What is the point? The point is there is always a solution to a problem. The point is there is never a problem that is too big that you can’t ask for help. The point is that without trying you will never know what could have happened. The point is never to give up but to approach your problem from a different view.

Menu Run Down: Week June 24 – 29, 2018

Menu Run Down: Week June 24 – 29, 2018

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone had a successful start to the week.  I just wanted to hop on and share my meal prepping and grocery shopping this week.  I may have gotten a little bit too ambitious with my meal prep this week or maybe I was just feeling a bit tired. Meal prepping isn’t hard as long as your organized. Just carve out some time of your day to get it done (2 hours) and you should be good. Also, find different ways of cooking things so everything doesn’t need to go in the oven. Here’s what is on…

The search for summer salads

The search for summer salads

I’m searching for some summer salads!  I’ll probably revive this search for year round, but I don’t always have access to a microwave for lunch so I’m looking for foods that I can eat without warming it up.  Also, I’m not always wanting to eat a “traditional” salad because let’s be honest, a girl can only eat so much lettuce. There might be a twisted misconception that a salad must always look a certain way.  I will admit, I do not always like eating the traditional salad but it’s something gravitate to because it’s easy. My go-to no warm up…

Meal prep for the first time

Meal prep for the first time

Okay, so maybe it wasn’t my first time but this was the first time I’ve meal prepped this hard since early pregnancy.  But the good thing is I’m prepared for the week and I don’t have much to worry about. Gosh, I don’t remember it being so much work but I’ve been out of practice.  I still need to get back in the habit.  Plus, I made some more “complicated” meals than normal. I tried to prep most of the meals so I wouldn’t have anything to worry about.  I’m trying to stay on track and be focused on a…

Reintroducing myself to meal prepping

Reintroducing myself to meal prepping

Oh my.  It’s been a busy last couple of days.  I feel like I just don’t stop moving, except for nap time and then I want to take a nap myself.  I just feel like I can’t keep up. I decided I was going to get serious about my meal prepping.  I have to admit that I’ve been getting lazy with it.  I have been prepping my meals but not completely. Honestly, I’ll tell you I’ve been really lazy with the menu planning.  I use to try different things but now it’s been a lot of the same.  Taco meat…

Air fryer chicken wings

Air fryer chicken wings

Super Bowl Sunday has come and gone but I’m still thinking about those chicken wings I made in my air fryer. (Yes, I’m still in love with my air fryer and I think everyone should get one.) I love buffalo wings but I don’t like the fried aspect behind it. I’m always trying to find ways to make things a little bit healthier for my life so I thought I would try buffalo wings for the big day. I’ve been craving wings for a long time but I just don’t want to go out to get them.  I’m not sure if…

There’s nothing holding you back

There’s nothing holding you back

Happy Monday!  It’s time to kick start the week and make something happen.  I’m a huge sports person and watching sports gives me warm fuzzy feelings.  Last night was the Super Bowl and the winter Olympics are coming up.  I’m filled with all kinds of warm feelings on the inside.  I don’t think I’ve ever made it through an Olympic game without shedding some tears.  Just knowing people worked so hard to achieve their dreams and they finally made it without even standing on the podium is enough to move me.  But when I see a medal ceremony, it’s hard…

Do not stop the journey

Do not stop the journey

Good morning, everyone!  I wanted to start off by saying an apology for leaving the blog bare for so long.  It’s been a week and that’s not for lack of wanting to blog, it’s poor time management.  The to-do list is long and the blog is always the last thing on the list.  The blog is going to be a priority for me in 2018 because it’s something I love to do.  I will better manage my time and get the job done. This is a perfect segway into my topic today about carrying on no matter how long it…

Got weight loss goals?

Got weight loss goals?

It’s the new year and everyone is looking for those posts about achieving weight loss goals.  I’m going to go back to my roots to talk about what started it all, weight loss. My weight loss journey started back on January 6, 2011. I weighed 338 pounds, which I think was my heaviest weight.  I couldn’t be too sure because I never stepped on a scale until the day I started my weight loss journey. Now it’s 2019 and I’ve managed not to gain my weight back.  My biggest weight gain was from pregnancy, but I’m glad to say I’m…

It’s a new year

It’s a new year

I’m not too late to send my New Years message into the universe. There may only be a few hours left on January 1, 2018, but I’m going to get this message out there. I’ve been doing this blogging thing for a long time now and this day in the blogosphere is dedicated to people talking about their goals. It’s a new year, a clean slate. Really, did we all wake up and 2017 disappeared from the world? It doesn’t exactly work like that and it’s ok. As those days tick by we are learning things about ourselves, we are…
