A Weekly Dinner Meal Plan: Ground Turkey

The meal plan and meal prep are what is on everyone’s mind.  There’s not much for me to offer you in this area because I don’t create my own recipes. Plus, I don’t mind eating the same food all week.  I can make one meal and eat it for dinner all week, but I know some people just don’t like leftovers.

I thought I would try to create a dinner meal plan for the blog readers. To make grocery shopping a bit easier, I focused on one protein cooked different ways throughout the week.

Weekly meal plan ideas

Here’s the meal plan with this week’s featured ingredient: Ground Turkey

Monday: Mini meatloaf, cauliflower mash or mashed potatoes, and sauteed green beans.

Tuesday: Taco Tuesday. Use some Mrs. Dash taco seasoning and go to town.  Don’t want the tortilla? Make a taco salad with black beans, corn, avocado, and tomatoes.

Wednesday: Roasted spaghetti squash with marinara sauce and a side salad. Instead of making my own dressing when I don’t always have time, I would use a Bolthouse Farms dressing.

Thursday: Turkey burgers with baked sweet potatoes.  Save time by prepping your food,  I bake my sweet potatoes at 450 degrees for an hour with just cinnamon and black pepper.

Friday: It’s a day for leftovers.

This is just a basic dinner meal plan for people who need to have something different to eat every day.  Honestly, I would probably make two of these dishes and eat it the whole week.

Dinner always seems to come easy for me but lunch is another story.  When I come up with some ideas for lunch, it will be much more a struggle.  I do hope that you find this helpful and I look forward to doing more of these in the future.

Can you eat the same thing all week or do you need a variety in your meals?

Frozen vs. Fresh: The Produce debate

Frozen vs. Fresh: The Produce debate

Back in the day, I use to buy everything fresh and just prep the crap of out of it.  Now I don’t really have the time to do that with the little one running around.  But I also don’t know how to get my veggies in the way I want them buying them fresh.  My broccoli was always too hard, or I didn’t cook the green beans long enough.  There was always a problem. And then I started buying frozen vegetables.  I never thought this was a problem until there was a recall on some frozen vegetables at my grocery…

Broccoli salad and new meal prep help

Broccoli salad and new meal prep help

I’m still talking about that broccoli salad folks.  I don’t feel like I can appropriately move on with life until I tell you about the broccoli salad and what variation I decided on.  There are many variations on a broccoli salad which opened my eyes to this salad.  Broccolli salad is kind of BIG deal.  I found one that would work for me. I finally decided on the Best Broccoli Salad recipe from Mom on Time Out. I’m not sure why this appealed to me so much.  Maybe because these are ingredients I keep in the house and I wouldn’t…

Should I make broccoli salad for Christmas?

Should I make broccoli salad for Christmas?

I don’t know why I’ve been thinking about broccoli salad all day, but I think I want to make one for a side dish for Christmas.  I haven’t really decided what we will be eating at this meal.  I’m just now starting to put the pieces together.  I’m sure Tiny Tot would prefer to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I didn’t know there were so many variations of a broccoli salad.  There are options with mayo and mayo substitutes.  I need to decide between grapes, blueberries, apples, and oranges.  There is a bacon and cheddar combination.  I didn’t think…

Meal prep with the pressure cooker

Meal prep with the pressure cooker

It’s meal prep Sunday!  I hope everyone had a great weekend. I haven’t been a productive human today.  I enjoyed the peace and quiet in my house and napped on the couch and then watched the Cowboys lose a football game.  This game was not a good look for my Dallas Cowboys, but I will still root them on. I haven’t been blogging so I know that you’ve missed my meal prep post.  These posts are helpful not because you want to see what I’m eating, but so you can have different ideas on what to cook for your own…

Cookbooks make great gifts

Cookbooks make great gifts

The holiday season is here and I know you’re thinking about gifts for your family and friends.  I’m here to tell you that cookbooks make great gifts.  Buy someone a cookbook because it’s not something people will normally buy for themselves.  People do buy cookbooks but there are lots of really great cookbooks out there and we can’t buy them all. Ok, maybe it’s just me that goes to the bookstore on my free time to look at the cookbooks and leaves with nothing. I believe cookbooks are the gifts that keep on giving. Everyone needs a cookbook for meal ideas…

No meal prep this week

No meal prep this week

There was basically no meal prep this week.  I’ve been trying to get to the blog all week, but it’s always been the last thing.  I want to start off this post by thanking everyone for the birthday wishes.  Seeing all of those messages made me feel very special.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Last week I had everything together, this week it’s just been a struggle.  It has been an odd week.  My birthday was Monday so we went out to eat.  Tuesday was just a rush filled day and I got some fish tacos from…

Meal prep for the first time

Meal prep for the first time

Okay, so maybe it wasn’t my first time but this was the first time I’ve meal prepped this hard since early pregnancy.  But the good thing is I’m prepared for the week and I don’t have much to worry about. Gosh, I don’t remember it being so much work but I’ve been out of practice.  I still need to get back in the habit.  Plus, I made some more “complicated” meals than normal. I tried to prep most of the meals so I wouldn’t have anything to worry about.  I’m trying to stay on track and be focused on a…

Reasons to slow down while eating

Reasons to slow down while eating

Yesterday, I was traumatized because I saw my life flashing before my eyes.  I simply wanted to eat lunch with my daughter and it turned into a nightmare situation. I got some food stuck in my throat.  I could still breathe and mumble a bit, but I knew it was just a matter of seconds before those positive things would turn into a negative. I really thought I was going to die and it scared the crap of me.  There were many things that ran through my mind, but they all revolved around my sweet baby girl. Eventually, the food…
