Taking a break until June 16, 2022

To be honest, I have no idea what to do with this space. I’ve been trying to decide on a niche myself, and what I want my brand to be in the future. This is hard. But I will come back with more consistent content.  Feel free to comment on what things you would like covered on the blog, and my other social media platforms. Thank you for being patient with me and continuing to read the blog.  I will relaunch Thursday, June 16, 2022. Life, love, and the pursuit of happiness, Angela

Mom Works It Out Podcast by Angela Gillis Episode #5: So I’m bringing the podcast back + getting to know me April 8, 2022 Introduction: Why I’m bringing the podcast back? My beef with the Apple Watch? I’m in a reading rut but watching too much TV. Question of the week: Are you a curious person, or do you take things at face value without asking questions? Five things to know about me: These aren’t the basic things she likes to run or lost weight. These are five things that you might not know about me. You have to listen…

Weekly wrap-up #5: hurt back, avocado chickpea toast, reading and binging tv

Welcome to another weekly wrap-up. It’s the time to talk about the good, the bad, and everything else from the week before on the blog. This week I found myself down with a pulled muscle or pinched nerve in my back. On Tuesday, I reached for my backpack, and I felt a pain in my back. I didn’t think about it and reached down to pick up my backpack after that and went home to work out. The following day, I reached for a toy on the floor, and the same thing happened, but the pain was worse.   My week…

Weekly wrap-up #4 2022: more running, breaking a hard drive, and not enjoying lunch

Welcome to another week of the weekly wrap-up. I can’t believe we’re already at #4. Most importantly, I can’t think I’ve managed to put up a weekly wrap-up so consistently. I hope it’s not the “kiss of death” for saying that so early in the year.   What do I say about this week? Work kept me busy. I’m not complaining about being busy with work. It has been hectic yet fulfilling at the same time. As a small business owner, these are the times we depend on to keep the business rolling all year. Workouts didn’t come easy, but I…

Weekly Wrap up #3 2022: an easy wholesome week

Weekly Wrap up #3 2022: an easy wholesome week

This week was a slow week for working out since I ran my 5K and half the weekend before. The week brought cold weather, family time, and just enjoying the time at home. I have Reynaud’s Syndrome, so I like to stay inside when it gets cold. We played video games, read books, and of course, started Ozark. It was a wholesome week, which was nice not to do anything. For the first time in a long time, things were calm and unscheduled. Every once in and awhile, that’s a beautiful feeling! Workouts this week: Monday: Rest day Tuesday: Rest Day Wednesday: 30…

Weekly wrap Up #2 2022: half marathon weekend and changing my diet

Welcome to the weekly wrap-up, and it’s late. Work has kept me busy, but I was about to plan things out for the first time and feel a bit “normal.” I changed my diet, meal prepped some food, and the Louisiana Marathon weekend was my favorite race weekend of the year. No excuses; it just needs to get done. Workouts for the week: Monday: 40 min run. I went into the run wanting to take it easy, and I could go in the morning because I didn’t have to go to work. It felt great getting my workout done in…

CAMA Bag – The Smaller One – Review

“Disclaimer: I received a CAMA Bag to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review, find, and write race reviews!” What do you do with your sweaty clothes after a run? How do you store your dirty clothes when you’re on vacation? No one wants to mix their dirty clothes with clean ones. And I know, after a long run or race, I like to change out of my sweaty clothes before driving home. It’s not pleasant to sit in stinky clothes, and I definitely can’t sit in wet clothes…

Weekly Wrap Up #1 2022: sad news, emotional eating, anniversary, and New Year

Welcome to the first Weekly Wrap Up of 2022. The start of the New Year wasn’t the greatest. Sadly, we had to put my dog, Master, down this week. It’s has affected me more than I thought. It’s been hard adjusting to Master not being around, but I know it was the best decision. He was in a lot of pain and could barely walk. I know he’s in a better place.   The year started with several work trips, and I spent too much time in the car. I tried to start with a positive mindset and get back to…

Gift Guide: Favorite Amazon purchases in 2021

Gift Guide: Favorite Amazon purchases in 2021

I am sharing my favorite Amazon purchases of 2021. Have you shopped at Amazon? It’s a silly question because most spend so much time searching and buying things on Amazon Prime. The holiday season is upon us, so this is the perfect chance to share my favorite purchases on Amazon this year. I know it’s best to shop locally and through small businesses, but Amazon comes through with having all your items within a click. I use Amazon much more now that I’ve become a mom, and sometimes it is hard to get out in the stores with a small…

Best of October 2021: what I ate, read, ran, and Formula 1

October is over. I can’t believe we are moving into the last two months of the year. I wanted to look back on the month to celebrate all the good land lows) of the month. Many things happen throughout the month that I may not talk about because there’s no space to talk about them. This blog post is the perfect place to include the big and little things happening in life.   October has been busy for me. There were so many activities and things to participate in throughout the month; it was nice to get back to having fun…

Tips for attending F1 United States Grand Prix (general admission) at COTA

I had my first Formula 1  (F1) United States Grand Prix 2021 this past weekend at COTA (Circuit of the Americas), and this was the perfect time to provide some tips for attending the United States Grand Prix. It’s an experience I’ll never forget and I can’t wait to go back to the circuit.  Any F1 fan is grateful to have the experience to see a race in person. Take the shuttles provided from Downtown Austin or Barton Creek Mall. There is no way I would pay for parking at COTA because I would imagine it would be a nightmare to…
