Week in Review #1 2020

Welcome to the week in review where I recap the week  (weekly workouts, what I ate, what I did), and the things I learned along the way. Compared to the past few weeks, this week has been perfect. If you’ve been watching my videos, you know I haven’t been sleeping well the past few weeks, but this week has been much better. I’ve been sleeping throughout the night now, and I may be waking up earlier than I want, but I feel like I’m getting quality sleep. So what have I’ve been doing differently? The two noticeable things were different…

How to make a change

How to make a change

Going back to regular content after social media supported Black Lives Matter by uplifting black voices last week seems a bit odd. There’s still a discussion in progress that I don’t want to end. People are open to knowing and understanding at this moment in time. I encourage all of us to do better and look at what we can do to change the way race is handled in our country. I will get back to regular content, but I didn’t feel I could return to blogging without getting this post done. I don’t tend to talk about race because…

Lessons from the social distancing thing

Lessons from the social distancing thing

Hello all, from a social distancing house. Can you believe what’s going on in the world right now? Did you ever think someone would tell you shouldn’t leave your home? It’s really a tough situation, but we are stronger together. Please give yourself the grace to feel whatever it is you need to feel, but don’t let it overwhelm you. Some days you might be super motivated to get stuff done, and other days you might want to sit around in your pajamas.  It’s a time in life when we aren’t in control of the things happening around us, but…

Episode #2: Changing your mindset

Episode #2: Changing your mindset

Episode #2: Changing your mindset “Just give up the state of mind you’re in. If you want to be somebody else. If you’re tired of fighting battles with yourself, if you want to be somebody else, change your mind.” – Sister Hazel Introduction: It’s that time again for another episode of the podcast. I’m excited to talk about the change in mindset this week. I’m not sure why it makes me so energized, but I feel it’s an essential aspect of self-improvement.  There is going to be storytime this week to show examples of how I had to change my…

Tips to create healthy habits

Tips to create healthy habits

The start of the new year is a time of year when people get in gear about health and fitness, and I want everyone to succeed at those goals. I wanted to share with you tips on creating healthy habits. When a person creates habits, you will be more likely to engrain those routines into your everyday life where it doesn’t seem like work. No diets. Not fads. It is just creating the habits that will take you on a new journey. Creating a new routine isn’t necessarily about weight loss and can be applied to any habits you are…

Your 2020 infinite playlist

Your 2020 infinite playlist

Happy New Year! I haven’t posted in the new year not because it wasn’t on my mind, but because I was just trying to get my ish together. Everyone suggests the new year brings all of these fabulous things, and we all of a sudden become new people. Where it may be the start of a new year (and in this case; a fresh new decade), we are still the same people on December 31, 2019, 11:59 pm as we are on January 1, 2020. There’s nothing magical that happens. We all don’t develop a case of new year amnesia. …

I walked a half marathon

I walked a half marathon

I walked a half marathon. I walked the Rock n Roll San Antonio Half Marathon in 3 hours and 10 minutes. Walking a half marathon may not seem like a big deal, but I get many comments about how people don’t sign up for races because they are afraid of walking. When did walking become a problem? News flash: walking isn’t a bad thing. Walking burns the same amount of calories as running; it just may take you a bit longer. There’s nothing wrong with walking. I’m not the first person to walk a half marathon, so I don’t think…

What is the awesome mindset?

What is the awesome mindset?

Do you have an awesome mindset? It’s essential to cultivate positivity in your life, starting with yourself. The awesome mindset IS NOT about being overly confident or selfish. IT IS about building confidence to PRAISE yourself during your thriving moments, and to power to believe in yourself during those unsure life moments. This mindset is about validating your own feelings and thoughts without ever feeling bad about it. When making those priority lists in life, you probably don’t even put yourself on the list at all. But without making yourself a priority, you can ‘t be a reliable partner, parent,…
