Do you know the different between shoes? I see many people wearing the wrong shoes for different activities. That’s why I was so jazzed to get a pair of the Asics GEL-Fit Sanas. The GEL-Fit Sanas are an amazing training shoe for all those cross training activities in your life. The shoes are made of stretchable mesh.

The shoe retails for $80 and is available in different colors. There will be a color for everyone! The shoes I received were navy/white/hotpink!

#Ad Did Group Power in @asicsamerica GEL-Fit Sana this morning! I'm loving these training shoes. #FITwithAsics #fitfluential

The shoes are light and flexible. The shoe adapts to your foot to give a barefoot like feeling but it’s a truly well-supported shoe from toe to heel. I really enjoyed wearing them for my strength/weight sessions. I was in constant search of a well supported shoe that wasn’t so bulky and this ended up being the perfect shoe for me. I was really surprised, especially since it came in my size of 11.5.

I really loved how light the shoes are because it really felt like I wasn’t wearing any at some points. Plus, the shoes are really cute! Every girl loves a cute shoe, even when she’s working out. I usually don’t get the fashionable shoes because I end up wearing men’s shoes most times because my foot is so large.  The GEL-Fit Sana will take you from the gym to out on the streets while still looking great!

I also took the shoes for a roll on the row machine, elliptical and a turn on the stationary bike.  I don’t want you to think I’m pimping these shoes out for just weight lifting shoes because I did so much more in them.  This is a versatile shoe for your cross training activities! The shoes just slip on and fit like a glove.  There’s no weird rubbing to cause blisters or that too tight feeling.  It really does feel like you’re barefoot.  I can’t say that enough.  These shoes are just that LIGHT!

I never would have thought about purchasing this shoe but that’s because I’m a little close-minded when it comes to shoes. BUT I am glad this shoe made it’s way into my workouts because it’s going to be my go-to shoe for my cross training workouts. I really don’t think it gets any better than a light, fashionable, support adaptable shoe. Give it a try!

My week with the Mizuno Wave Rider 18

My week with the Mizuno Wave Rider 18

The following post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Mizuno for the Wave Ride 18. All opinions expressed here are my own! With the amount of running I do, I go through a lot of shoes, but I’ve never tried Mizuno’s before.  When it comes to trying new shoes, it’s kind of hard for me to take the plunge.  This time I am glad that I did.  The Mizuno Wave Rider 18 is a neutral shoe but it packs some good mid-foot support, which is very important to me. The shoes I received were Black/Silver/Florida Keys!  That’s always…

Six:02 and The Reebok Skyscape Runaround

Six:02 and The Reebok Skyscape Runaround

The following post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Reebok. This past weekend I visited my local Six:02 store at Memorial City Mall to buy some Reebok Skyscapes. I must start this off by telling you I knew nothing about Six:02 and I’m not a real big fan of Reebok. Spoiler alert: things have changed on that front. My first impression of the store: this store is for women! I loved the modern feel of the store. Everything had a place and it was very organized. The store sells different brands from Asics to Reebok so there is…

Recovery from the weekend with Pro Compression

Recovery from the weekend with Pro Compression

It was a big weekend because I did my 20 miler on Saturday.  Yesterday was a rest day.  Rest days are important to give your body a recharge.  It may sound funny coming from me because most people don’t think I take a rest, but I know when my body needs a rest.  Always remember to listen to your body. Recovery has been a big deal to me lately and I’ve taken the time to really educate myself on it.  I was doing it wrong for so long.  It’s hard to think about putting the calories back in your body…

The 62 mile bike ride: Year 2

The 62 mile bike ride: Year 2

This was my second year doing the Katy Flatland Century, BUT this was Willie’s first “big boy” bike ride ever. I’ve really wanted him to ride with me but road bikes are expensive. He was kind enough to let me get my bike first. He really wanted to make sure he would love the experience before he dropped that much money on a bike. So we borrowed a bike from our good friends for the occasion. Luckily, Rodale sent me some books on cycling for beginners which we both looked through. Yes, I got my bike last year but I’m…

Embrace the Space: My Altra running shoes

Embrace the Space: My Altra running shoes

I didn’t post yesterday because I guess I was too busy working out.  LOL!  It’s launch week at the gym so it’s always a busy week and I like to try all the new classes too.  Yesterday I taught cycle twice and then I needed to go for a run. It was my first run since the 50K and I felt good. It got me thinking, “maybe it’s the shoes?” I think I should have worn my new shoes to the race on Saturday night. I really think it would have made a difference. A couple of weeks ago I…

My veggetti experience

My veggetti experience

Last week Jes and I purchased the veggetti.  I’d seen the veggetti before but I never remembered to pick it up when I was out.  We saw a commercial for it while we were eating dinner and immediately we went out to purchase one. It was a very exciting moment. I couldn’t wait to try it. So last night I tried it. The veggetti works very easily. Watch your fingers though at some points, but it’s nothing serious. I used zucchini and summer squash. It was on sale this week! It was fast and it left the veggies looking funny.…
