Find your passion

The other day I did a Facebook Live to answer questions about weight loss and what not.  If you missed it, I’m sorry but you can go back to watch it.  Someone asked a question about my motivation to keep going and answered about beginning with the end in mind.  This got me thinking a little deeper about what motivates me to do what I do.

I found my passions. It’s easy to be motivated when I found something that I love to do.  I fell in love with running and it gave me something to work towards.  Running gave me the time to think to about some other passions, too.

I always want to be better than I was the day before, even if it’s a small change.  If I can run a little bit longer if I can run a bit faster, or even just improving my form is what I’m striving for every day.

Running isn’t for everyone and I don’t want anyone to think I’m pushing running on you.  I talk about my running with others to encourage people to find their passion.

Find that thing that is going to light a fire in your life.

Finding your passion will change your world.  It will give you something to focus on.  It will give you something to work on and perfect.  It will provide you with your greatest joys and challenges in your life. It will give you something to wake up for every day and want to keep looking forward.  Your passion will ignite your life and will open up new opportunities in your life.

Running isn’t my only passion but it’s opened up so many doors for me.  Running has allowed me to find out that I do want to help people achieve their hopes and dreams.  I want to make people think.  I want to inspire and motivate others.  Losing the weight, interacting with the worldwide running community, and writing my blog lead me to want to help people.

I want to have a voice and I want to make a difference.  It’s another one of my motivations to keep going forward on my journey.

Don’t look to anyone else to tell you what your “thing” is in life.  It lives inside of you and no one will know better than yourself.  I encourage you to find your passion and see where it takes you.  Take the leap and do something that you love.  Find ways to shape your passion into something that will last a lifetime.

Our greatest enemy is our own mind so don’t rob yourself of something because you don’t think you’re capable of doing it or it’s just slightly out of reach.  With anything in life, the good things are worth working for and this is the time for you to put in the work to DEVELOP your passion.

This will not be the first time I talk about finding your passion.  This post is just the prelude.  I encourage you to stop and think about the things that move your heart.  Find the things that make you think.  What is it that you love to do?

Have you found your passion or are you still searching?

Do what you can

Do what you can

Happy Monday! Now is the time to do what you can no matter the level or the time behind it. I’m going through a humbling experience right now because my fitness level obviously isn’t the same as what it was 10 months ago. It’s not like I’m starting all over, but I have taken a few steps backward. Before y’all start hitting the comments about how I just had a baby or I should be blessed, I want to shut it down. I know I just had a baby and I am beyond blessed for my baby. That is not…

Transform your thinking to be grateful

Transform your thinking to be grateful

My blogging schedule has been interuptted by the Olympics. I love the Olympics so hard that I spend all my free time watching it.  Diving, archery, rowing, fencing, volleyball (surprisingly), gymnastics and weightlifting have been occupying my time.  I’m sorry for all the delays.  This post should have been up yesterday.  Now back to blogging. I don’t know about you, but I sometimes spend so much dwelling on the things I haven’t done or don’t have.  It can really set your mind back and it lessens the accomplishments that I have achieved.  I blogged about how pregnancy messed with weight…

Never give up

Never give up

There are a few new faces to the blog because of some media coverage that has occured so I wanted to say a big HELLO to all of you.  Thanks for coming by the site and sharing your kind words.  With all the new faces, the questions begin to roll in.  People want to know how to get started on their weight loss journey, what did we do, what about the loose skin and how long did all of that take?  All those questions have been answered here on the blog many many times. Those questions are really great questions…

The great thing about Mondays

The great thing about Mondays

Happy Monday everyone! Sometimes Mondays get a bad wrap because the day comes after the weekend, but it’s not always that bad.  The great thing about Mondays is it’s a time to start fresh and wipe the slate clean. Mondays are a day when I try to actually put together an outfit to wear. Here is what I’m sporting today and this has no place in the actual blog post but it’s fun, right? Monday is a day of reflection of what you accomplished the previous week and what you want to do in the upcoming week. The great thing…

Five Things Friday: The mailbox edition

Five Things Friday: The mailbox edition

Sorry for no blog yesterday, I really wasn’t feeling it.  I had a core workout I was going to share with the class, but my heart wasn’t in it. Thursday is usually the day I leave open to talk about life on the blog but it just wasn’t coming to me and putting in a core workout just didn’t seem…right. It was probably just a good day to take a break from blogging. It’s Five Things Friday but I only have one thing to tell you. Today I am here to tell you that I’m reopening the mailbox!  This means I will…

Be true to yourself.

Be true to yourself.

It’s Monday and I like to post motivational stuff on Monday. Sometimes I have these great moments, but most days it’s just a simple message. Today is going to be one of those moments…and I may have talked about this a few zillion times, but I REALLY think it’s important to BE TRUE TO YOURSELF! I’ve struggled. I want to be everything to everyone. I want to feel loved and I want to feel needed. Sometimes I would morph myself to fit this person’s mold and then try to fit into another person’s needs. I can only be myself and…

Always be proud of yourself

Always be proud of yourself

I know I’ve been out of the loop for a week but I’m glad to finally be making my return to the world.  It was a rough couple of weeks for me.  Thank you to everyone who sent e-mails asking if I was OK.  Those were greatly appreciated and made me smile. On this Monday morning I wanted to share a message with everyone.  Always be proud of yourself. Every challenge that you conquer and every feat you never thought you would do is something to celebrate and remember. Be proud of what you have accomplished.  Be proud of the…

Good comes from a bad day

Good comes from a bad day

Yesterday was a pretty bad day.  Things has progressively gotten better throughout the day but it had taken a toll on me mentally.  A series of unfortunate events finally led me to the road.  I needed to burn off some of the stress that had been building all day. I hit the road to clear my mind. I felt really good when I was done. I was back in a better head space and I was ready to relax! But then this happened! The bus aka The Sequoia had a really bad flat. When I got out of the car…

You are enough so embrace it.

You are enough so embrace it.

It’s a big world out there and sometimes it’s hard to navigate and stay true to yourself.  I remember my teenage years and all the adults claiming “you’ll find yourself as your grow older.”  Everyone has heard the “just be you and don’t worry about what other people think” speech, but it’s easier said than done, right? As I grow older though, I think it becomes harder to be who you are without being conscious of what other people may think or say. It never gets easier and it never goes away.  It’s something everyone has to work towards.  Just…

I’ve been MEGA inspired

I’ve been MEGA inspired

My inspiration changes from moment to moment and that’s what keeps me going. That’s the great thing about inspiration, it doesn’t have to be just one thing or person. I must share, I’ve been inspired by a special person in my life: Patsy! I will keep this short and sweet because words will never be able to express the full emotion. I see Patsy working really hard! She’s been working on her fitness and has made some positive life changes over the years. But the thing that really got me? On Sunday, Willie and I were on our way to…
