What Gives Your Children A Good Start?

Let’s get our children off to a good start. If you are keen to be a good parent, there are a lot of things that you should bear in mind to make sure of that. One of the most vital things is that you are doing everything possible to give your child a good start. The primary duty of the parent and something that you are probably going to be personally very keen on making sure of. Of course, you may be wondering what you can do to ensure you are doing this right. As it happens, there are a few things to think about here.

Giving your child a good start

In this post, we are going to discuss what it is that will give your children a good start. That is something that you will want to think about, and all the things we are about to look at are vital in their way. So, let’s look and see what you can do to ensure all of these.

Good Health

First and foremost, a child needs good health if they will have a chance of a good life. This is something that you really can’t overlook that easily, and which you are going to find particularly important if you are keen on trying to improve their chances of doing well on the whole. There are many reasons why health is so important, not just the fact that it ensures they can live.

For instance, good health often goes hand in hand with having a lot of energy, and that is something that will prove particularly important, too, as that feeds into many other things. It’s also the case that having strong health means they are more likely to be happy and confident, and that health will also be more likely to sustain for the duration. All in all, you will find that ensuring good health means that they have a much better start to life.

So how can you make sure of this? There are a few fundamental things you can focus on for the health of your children. Firstly, make sure that their diet is healthy, as far as you can. That is likely the most crucial aspect of this. Secondly, you should ensure they are getting plenty of exercise, which most young kids will naturally get from running around, but it’s good to make sure.

Finally, you should ensure that you are focused on their mental health because that is important to all of us, and it’s something that you can and should consider a fundamental part of their overall health. If you are keen to do that right, it will make all the difference to their health, and they will have a much stronger start.

Strong Education

When you think of a child having a good start in life, you think about their education. This is something that you will need to focus on and which will be particularly important, so you should ensure that you are doing all you can to encourage this as much as possible. A strong education will make for a much better chance of doing well, and it’s something you should focus on as much as possible.

But what does it mean to have a strong education? Despite what many people seem to think, it’s not simply about splashing out on an expensive school, though it will certainly often help if you do so. It has more to do with how education is focused on as a family, and that is something that you can always work on and improve if you want to.

For instance, you might decide to do some homeschooling with your child, whether you are just helping them with some homework from time to time or you are entirely homeschooling them. To do this, you should make sure you have all the necessary resources, from a math reference sheet to stationery and so on, and that you set up in a part of the home where you won’t be disturbed.

With good homeschooling, you will often find that you will help your child get a much better education. But that is not the only way, and you need to make sure that you are also generally encouraging their learning in whatever way you can, particularly with any problem areas and with anything that they seem to be particularly good at, as those are the two things you should focus on most of all.

I have chosen public education for my child, but I have found ways to get involved at school.  There are many ways to get involved with your child’s education like volunteering at the school and joining the PTA or PTO.  The little things make a difference like showing up for the extra events or even having lunch with your child at school.  If you invest in the learning environment and commit, your child will also buy in and become more interested in learning and being apart of the community.

As long as they have a good education, it will mean that they have a much better chance of a strong start in life, so make sure that you are aware of this and focus on it right from the start.

Financial Strength

Something else that will always prove important to your child as they grow is money. Like it or not, this is going to have an impact on what kind of life they have, and if you want to encourage them to have the best life possible, you will find that it is necessary to promote some financial strength. Of course, while they are still a child, that will mostly be a case of you trying to be financially savvy and working on what you can do to build up savings for their future. But it’s also about teaching them how to approach money sensibly, something that you can never start with too early.

There are many things you can focus on here, for instance ensuring that you set a good example with how you approach finances, as well as teaching them about the importance of not overspending and having a budget. These are all things they will need to learn eventually anyway, so you can help them as much as you can. If you can do that, you will find that they are much more likely to have good financial strength in their life in the future.

With that, it will mean that their chances of having a better life are much higher, and you might be surprised at just how true that can be. All in all, this is the thing that will make a massive difference to them, so make sure that you are not ignoring this.

Love

Let’s not forget the most important thing of all, however, which is that your child gets a lot of love. The more love there is in the family home, the better that will be for your family as a whole and the future of your children. Their being able to remember a love-filled home is something that is going to sustain them well and which is going to help ensure that they can live a much happier and more well-rounded life.

If you are unsure at all about whether or not you are offering this, it’s something that you might want to think about.

Those are the main things that help to give your children a good start in life, so make sure that you are thinking about these early on.

April filled with good times but no content (Monthly Wrap-Up #4 2023)

It is time for my monthly wrap-up. April flew by quickly, and I was swamped. I had the busiest month of the year, and this will probably be the shortest wrap-up of the year. I spent the month doing those necessary adult things but had a productive month. March was a strong content month, but April fell flat.  It’s hard to balance everything simultaneously, so I take my wins when I can get them. My meals were basic. It’s best to keep things simple when it’s busy. Most of my meals were chicken sausage and veggies, ground turkey pasta and…

Dealing with the expectations of being a new mom

Mother’s Day is always a time I reflect on being a mom, so I wanted to share some of my thoughts on the blog. It’s been six years since I had Tot, but I thought about being a mom and the things I would have known before becoming a new mom. In content creation and social media, there is a blurred view of what parenthood is like for moms. It’s not always matching outfits, made-from-scratch meals, and being highly productive throughout the day. I try to keep things real in my content, which can be challenging, even now. It takes…

Finding motivation in February (Monthly wrap-up #2 2023)

Finding motivation in February (Monthly wrap-up #2 2023)

It’s time for another monthly wrap-up. I don’t know what happened to me, but I got seriously motivated in February to tackle some goals. I do know what happened. In January, I ran the Hot Chocolate 10K, and I wouldn’t say I liked how I felt when I finished. I felt down about my performance, and I wanted to do better. It’s just like the Sister Hazel song, Change Your Mind. “If you want to be somebody else, If you’re tired of fighting battles with yourself. If you want to be somebody else, Change your mind.” I’ve been living in my…

Starting off the year right (Monthly wrap-up #1 2023)

The January Wrap-Up is coming in a bit late. Last year, I tried to do a weekly wrap-up, but it became overwhelming weekly, and it eventually failed. This year, I’m committing to making my blog one of my leading social media, so I’ve taken the time to evaluate what is doable. In the past, I was too ambitious about what I could accomplish. I am setting a more attainable goal to get the blog moving in the right direction. So here I am telling you the content you didn’t expect is coming in LATE. (I hate to admit it, but…

How does Ultima Beauty Collagen + Electrolytes fulfill hydration needs?

“Disclaimer: I received Ultima Beauty Collagen + Electrolytes to review as part of being a BibRave Ambassador. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Ambassador, and check out BibRave.com to review, find, and write race reviews!” It’s hard for me to take my daily supplements; anything to make it easier to get them in is A++ in my book. Another problem I have during the winter season is staying hydrated. The cooler, less humid temps have me reaching for my water bottle less often. Having some flavored water beverages is a big win to keep me hydrated. Dehydration during the winter…

Summer reading in the month of June

Summer reading in the month of June

It’s time to recap the books I read during June. I had a great month of reading, mainly due to Tot having an hour of swimming lessons every day which I took as my reading time. I am a mystery and murder book gal, but I decided to read some lighter reads for summer. I read many books because I like to borrow books from the library, and all my holds came back.  Basically, I read my entire summer TBR list in the month of June.  I am currently taking book recommendations to finish off my summer reading books.  Please…
