There’s nothing holding you back

Happy Monday!  It’s time to kick start the week and make something happen.  I’m a huge sports person and watching sports gives me warm fuzzy feelings.  Last night was the Super Bowl and the winter Olympics are coming up.  I’m filled with all kinds of warm feelings on the inside.  I don’t think I’ve ever made it through an Olympic game without shedding some tears.  Just knowing people worked so hard to achieve their dreams and they finally made it without even standing on the podium is enough to move me.  But when I see a medal ceremony, it’s hard to just sit there without thinking about the struggle and sacrifice.

All of this has me thinking about the things that hold us back from achieving our own dreams.  (And maybe there was a little Shawn Mendes on my mind, too) Sometimes we are our own worst enemies and get in our own way, but there really isn’t anything holding you back.  Don’t let these things get in your way.

  1. Fear of failure.  Second guessing is a big thing especially when you’re embarking on a new adventure or path in life. There is the fear of the unknown that can stop you from even taking the first steps.  Just remember, things may not happen the way you planned but that doesn’t mean that things are not going to happen.  Don’t be afraid of failure.  Let the fear of failure be your guide to success.  Use the obstacles as a way to fuel your journey to not give up.
  2. Fear of change. It’s hard to step out of your comfort zone.  It’s hard to even see you’re trying something new.  When things aren’t going in the right direction, it might be time to make a change.  Therefore, you cannot let the fear of change and normal patterns of behavior to stunt your growth as a person. There is no change without change. More opportunities may come your way with the slightest bit of change.  Also, even with the change, it doesn’t take long for something to become your new normal.
  3. Lack of trust in your own decisions. At some point, you have to hang it up and just trust yourself.  If you can’t trust yourself, who can you trust? I don’t care what people say, you are your own best friend and the only person you can really depend on is yourself.  You are the person who knows what is best for you, so you just have to trust your decisions and move forward.  Even if there is a struggle, there is still a lesson to learn and that will make you trust yourself even more. It’s very easy to get clouded by what other people think you should do but it’s up to you to make the right decisions for yourself.

I am here to tell you that you can accomplish anything that you want.  There is nothing holding you back.  Make the decision to make a change, put a plan in place, and trust yourself.  Don’t let mind games stop you from advancing in life because of fear or getting in your own way. Hard work and determination will beat out any fears you may have about a situation.

There is nothing holding your back.

Motivation Monday: Concentrate on what you have

Motivation Monday: Concentrate on what you have

Happy Monday!  I hope things are starting off right for you today.  This post will be short but I wanted to share with you a message of concentrating on what you have and value your worth.  I’ve gone through a period of time of not realizing my worth and questioning things that haven’t happened in my life.  What I’ve learned is that is a waste of time.  Don’t make that mistake. It’s important to be thankful for everything that you are and currently possess instead of longing for the things you are not and don’t have. Those things will come… View Post

Nothing is impossible

Nothing is impossible

It’s been said that Willie and I accomplished the impossible by losing so much weight and working hard to keep it off. I never saw it was something as impossible. I never saw it as something that we couldn’t accomplish in time. I never saw it as something that we couldn’t achieve. Nothing is impossible. Some things may take extra steps for achievement or may take longer than we may like, but you will still get there. Think of it as a ladder, you start at the bottom and work your way to the top one step at a time.… View Post

Bad doesn’t always mean bad

Bad doesn’t always mean bad

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you are having a fabulous start to the week.  I had a great weekend hanging with friends and running some trails but there is more on that later.  It’s time for a little motivation on Monday about why bad doesn’t always mean bad. The weight loss journey was hard and frustrating but the positive was we were working toward a goal. Even on the worst days, it was just easier to move forward imagining what things would be like in the end. There are times when you find yourself in a place that isn’t the… View Post

Motivation Monday: Be present in the moment.

Motivation Monday: Be present in the moment.

I’m blogging from a hotel room on this lovely early morning and I’m thinking about all the amazing experiences I’ve had this year.  It’s been completely amazing and there has been one take back from it all. Be present in the moment. That is today’s motivation Monday message.  It’s an important message to send, especially at this time of year. It’s Thanksgiving week which means a big meal to made and friends and family gathering together.  It can be hetic and overwhelming, but it’s also meant to be a time to be thankful and enjoy the time.  Don’t forget that… View Post
