This time of year, it’s hard for me to stay hydrated. Texas summer leaves me always reaching for my water bottle, but a southeast Texas “winter” leaves me with comfortable temperatures where it feels great to get some miles outside.

I need to replenish my electrolytes regularly, so I don’t feel sluggish for my next workouts. The taste is light with just enough to know you added something to your water. I did not take these out on the run because of the fizzing nature of the product. I’m not a person who is running to eat or drink post-workout/long run, but it’s an essential part of recovery. The flavors I sampled were orange strawberry, tropical punch, mixed berry, and lemon-lime. My favorite flavor was the NOW® Sports Effer-Hydrate orange strawberry with the citrus notes. The flavor called to me post-workout, but I enjoyed all the flavors. I’m not a lemon-lime type of girl, but this was a refreshing light taste, too. And I only had one NOW® Sports Effer-Energy tube of tropical punch, which tasted great. I don’t drink juice or many other drinks other than water, so it was nice to have a wide range of flavors to choose from to quench my thirst pallette.

The tablets dissolve in water in a short amount of time, usually about 5 minutes to fully dissolve, which is the perfect time to get other things ready while you’re waiting. And it’s always fun to see the tablet dissolve in the water to produce a nice fizzy drink.  

My biggest tip for staying hydrated anytime is to carry a water bottle with you that is always full and leave it in full sight. It’s there as a constant reminder to drink when you’re getting in the rush of the day. These tablets are easy to transport in the tube and can quickly pop in your water bottle for a hydration fix. If you see it, you will drink it.
