It’s hard for me to take my daily supplements; anything to make it easier to get them in is A++ in my book. Another problem I have during the winter season is staying hydrated. The cooler, less humid temps have me reaching for my water bottle less often. Having some flavored water beverages is a big win to keep me hydrated. Dehydration during the winter is a real thing. Plus, I struggle with having brittle nails, so anything that improves my overall wellness is appreciated.

Ultima Beauty Collagen + Electrolytes

In comes Ultima Beauty Collagen + Electrolytes to my life. This supplement contains zero sugar, zero carbs, and 9.5g collagen. The Ultima Beauty Collagen + Electrolytes comes in two flavors: Strawberry kiwi and mango pineapple. Each serving contains electrolytes to hydrate the skin and collagen to help strengthen hair, skin, and nails.

What is collagen?

I know the collagen talk has been around for a few years, but I’ve added it to my daily lifestyle. Honestly, I knew very little about collagen, so I decided to learn a bit about it. I’ve learned that collagen provides structural support for the extracellular space of connective tissues. Collagen gives structure, strength, and elasticity to our skin.  Ultima Beauty contains Type I and Type III collagen.  Type I collagen provides structure to your skin, bones, tendons, and ligaments, while Type III is found in muscles, arteries, and organs. Also, I’m in the 40+ age crowd, and as we grow older our bodies reduce the production of collagen. Having healthy skin, hair, and nails is very important. I’m not a high-maintenance girl, but keeping my body’s foundation in check is very important. But I always need to remember to take my supplements consistently.

Ultima Beauty Collagen + Electrolytes
Having a portable, no need to measure serving is what I love about the Beauty Collagen + Electrolytes. It’s perfect for taking on the go and/or setting it aside for me to drink first thing in the morning. It comes in a pack of 15 serving sticks which are premeasured and already packaged. It’s perfect any time of the day, but I’m most productive in the morning, so it’s easy to add drinking this into my morning routine.

Replenishing electrolytes in your body is essential for hydration. You only need one serving daily, which mixes easily with 8-12 fl. oz of water. I use more water because I need extra hydration before drinking my coffee.  That’s my rule.  I’m not allowed to have coffee if I don’t drink water.  This is an extra incentive for me to get hydrated in the morning, plus I’m helping my hair, skin, and nails.

Fighting dehydration during winter is hard for me, even when I’m working out. According to Eating Well, “Electrolytes do many important things in your body. They help keep the amount of water in your body balanced, maintain pH levels and help move nutrients in and out of cells. Electrolytes also help muscles, nerves, and organs work properly.”

Ultima Beauty Collagen + Electrolytes

I tried the strawberry kiwi flavor, and I have no complaints. It’s a not-to-sweet taste, and it’s subtle. It’s perfect for adding to other drinks, too. I added the stick to my morning smoothie. I also liked mixing seltzer water with my handheld frother and topping it with fruit juice. I am on the journey to maintaining healthy hair, skin, and nails, and adding Ultima Beauty Collagen + Electrolytes to my daily routine will help me improve my dry skin and nail strength wellness.

I highly recommend this Ultima Beauty Collagen + Electrolytes, especially if you need help forgetting to take your supplements. Each pack has 15 servings for $24.99! If you sign up for the e-mails on the site, you can get 20% off your first purchase.  This might seem a bit pricey at first glance, but you have to look at the product as a whole.  Ultima provides you with two products in one with electrolytes and collagen.  Plus, it’s a no-think product because it’s grab-and-go.  That’s worth the price!

Let’s recap how Ultima Beauty Collagen + Electrolytes will enhance your life:

  • This product is grab-and-go, meaning you can take it anywhere without measuring or spilling it.
  • Ultima Beauty is zero sugar, zero carbs, and 9.5g of collagen.
  • Collagen maintains healthy hair, skin, and nails.
  • This is another way to get in that extra glass of water throughout the day!
  • HEALTHY HAIR, SKIN, and NAILS.  (Yes, I repeated it.)

“Disclaimer: I received an Ultima Replenisher to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review, find, and write race reviews!” It’s hot outside, and Ultima Replenisher has helped me stay hydrated over these heated months. It is hard to avoid it, especially living on the Texas coast. The heat and humidity make the workouts harder, which means I spend a little extra time focusing on hydration. Long runs become a bit harder during the summer months, which is ironic because this is when we start training for those fall races…

Trying NOW® Sports Effer-Hydrate to aid in hydration

These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. This time of year, it’s hard for me to stay hydrated. Texas summer leaves me always reaching for my water bottle, but a southeast Texas “winter” leaves me with comfortable temperatures where it feels great to get some miles outside.  My daily routine consists of 80-100 ounces of water per day. When I’m hydrated, I sleep better; I don’t feel sluggish throughout the day, my skin is in great shape, and it easier to make it…

Summer hydration safety

Summer hydration safety

I have some lofty goals for this summer that I know I won’t be able to accomplish unless I focus on hydration. Hydration is an important part of daily life AND to those who are on a weight loss journey. Drinking water helps your metabolism which is something we are all trying to achieve, right? *Yes, I know I spent a lot of time talking about Nuun in this post. There is no compensation happening here. It’s just a product I love and use on a regular basis. It’s definitely apart of my daily routine. I can tell you all…

Bringing back the two-a-days and other things

Bringing back the two-a-days and other things

Willie is on a mission to remind me I’m just a few days done from the 50K! I have some aches and pains and he’s on my butt about giving it time. You know what I say to that? Yep! That’s right. It’s the time of year when it’s getting hotter outside and the nearby races are coming to an end. That means one of two things. 1. I need to start traveling or 2. I’m going to have to hit the streets and run. I’m going to Kentucky in two weeks though and then California at the end of…

The daily life and the medals

The daily life and the medals

Good afternoon everyone! I had this post planned today about hydration and I just wasn’t feeling it. That will probably have to come tomorrow because it’s important information. I’m not feeling much today. I’m feeling lazy and tired. I really didn’t take much time to recover two weeks ago from the marathon and then I went and ran another one. I’m a little off my marathon game. So here I am blogging to you today about…not much. Yesterday there was good news in the mail. We got our Little Rock Marathons in the mail again. This time I got my…

Stay hydrated. Drink water!

Stay hydrated. Drink water!

At the beginning of the summer Willie started this water drinking thing because he felt like he wasn’t getting enough.  He started doing it so of course I jumped on it too.  I just didn’t use that annoying app that has reminders to drink all the time.  (Truth: Every time that sucker went off I was more inclined to use the bathroom instead of drinking water.) But it really got my thinking, do I drink enough water?  We’ve been told since we were little that we needed 8 glasses of water per day.  But then I read this on PBS:…

Do you drink enough water?

Do you drink enough water?

There are two things that will halt your weight loss: water and sleep. If you’re not drinking enough water something is going on in your body. I’m not going to pretend to know the science behind this and get all technical. That wouldn’t be fun and that would be a step in the wrong information direction for me. I’ve read the articles and studies saying drinking water is better than drinking sugary drinks. Isn’t that a big “duh?” I’ve read consuming water before meals helps you eat less keeping the calorie intake lower than a person drinking alcohol or soda.…
