If you find specific sites or even social media profiles triggering, then now would be the time to do something about that. Even if some of the accounts belong to people in real life, you are not obligated to follow them on social media. Ensure you only follow accounts focusing on positive body images that naturally represent people. Ensure that you also focus on how certain pages make you feel. If you can do this, then there’s no reason why you can’t come out feeling better.

Separate Yourself

When you realize that you are worthy regardless of your appearance, you can move closer to having higher body confidence. Some people think their attractiveness is tied directly to their self-worth, but this is untrue. If you remind yourself of this regularly, you will soon find it easier to let go of any negative imagery you may have about yourself.

Focus on What You Love

Focusing on what you truly love about yourself is a good idea. It’s not just loving how you look; it’s about embracing who you truly are. Take the time to think about your values, strengths, accomplishments, and more. If there is a part of your body that you are truly unhappy with, then now could be the time for you to change that. For example, you may go to the gym or visit the dentist.

Try Being Neutral

If you can’t be confident in your body, then this is understandable; you can’t change things overnight. With that in mind, being neutral is a good stepping stone. Start by being thankful for your body and what it allows you to do. If you can do this, you will find it easier to push those negative thoughts to the back of your mind, so try to put this into practice.

Recognize the World

Recognizing that the world is home to a diverse sea of bodies is essential. Comparing yourself to others is well and truly pointless. Everyone has their own story, and you never know; there’s a high chance that the person you are comparing yourself to is comparing themselves to you. Everyone has a unique body, and you must take the time to appreciate them for who they are. If you can do this, you will soon find it easier to feel better about yourself. Try and count on your friends for moral support, too. If you can do this, you will feel more confident as you’ll have a solid support network.
