It’s time to STOP worry about what everyone else is doing or what they are thinking about because it’s doing nothing but wasting time.
It’s time for me to do me and you to do you! Stop worrying about what other people are thinking about you because chances are they aren’t thinking about you at all. So why worry about them?
Last week 10+ Reasons I Love My Ugly Body hit the internet and took the social media world by storm. I don’t personally know Andrea, in fact I just started talking to her this week. I didn’t start talking to her because of this post but because she’s going to be my roomie at Fitbloggin. But when I read this post, it spoke to me.
I struggle. I struggle with not looking the way I thought I would look when I hit my goal weight. I’ve been working hard to look past this issue. This is not news to you, I’ve talked about this before. I’m trying to find the measure of success/happiness in something else. You know why? Because I have accomplished so much with this body and I’m looking to accomplish much much more. I’ve earned every medal that’s been put around my neck no matter the shape and size of my body. This is the one thing I have to tell myself and not just in the moments of doubt. I love my body and I love who I am in my body!
But it’s a whole other issue too. Worry about what other people think about me and what I’m doing. I struggle but the point is I have nothing to prove to anyone. What I do is completely done for myself. I get out there to run because I love it. I stay active because it makes me feel alive. I look forward to my future challenges not to impress anyone but myself.
Yes, a lot of eyes are on me due to the media coverage and the blog, but at the end of the day I can’t worry about that. I have to do me. I don’t do it for the attention because if you really know me, I don’t like attention. I don’t do it because I want people to impressed. None of that matters. I push myself to the next level for me. I think everyone should take that attitude though because it makes success so much better. It makes reaching that goal so much better because success isn’t defined by someone else’s reaction. Truthfully, other people aren’t really going to care and they will brush it off anyway and that will leave you feeling disappointed.
DO IT FOR YOURSELF! Spend more time focusing on yourself and less about what other people are thinking.
I don’t think anyone wants to admit to worrying about what other people think, but it happens some time. Don’t you think it’s a drain on your own energy and your life?
