Happy August everyone! It’s the start of a new month which means anything is possible. Start thinking about the things you hope to accomplish this month.
Yesterday was my momma’s birthday! It was kind of a chill day for her. My momma likes to celebrate occasions with food which is hard for Willie and I because we’re trying to keep things in check.
We finally decided on Pei Wei. If you’re an old blog reader you know Willie and I use to swear by this place, but they changed the menu. For me, the nutritional information is a little bit harder to decipher than it previously was so we haven’t gone to this place in a LONG time. But we made the best of it. At least now they serve a side salad instead of the rice and/or noodles. We just dumped our entrees over the salad and called it meal. Luckily, I’m still obsessed with lettuce.
But I couldn’t let my momma’s birthday past without letting her enjoy some cake, so I got her cupcakes. I got her two red velvet cupcakes, a banana split and a wedding cake cupcake. She seemed to enjoy them and that’s all that matters!
I tallied up all the gift cards I got for my birthday and got some new running kicks. This is my first pair of green running shoes I’ve ever had. It was meant to be. I’m so excited! This was a welcome surprise on the door step yesterday!
This morning I woke up to do an easy run but it was super humid because of a rain storm from last night. And it was kind of raining this morning so I decided to hit the treadmill. It was definitely a morning that I wanted to sleep in and when I was working out, I wish I would have just stayed in bed. It was a sluggish run for me, I didn’t feel right. I got through the three mile run and decided to walk another mile. I guess I’m glad I did it BUT I feel tired. In fact, this post is late because I went back to sleep when I returned home.
I don’t want to set too many goals for August because I don’t want anything to get in the way of me getting back in the pool. I have been inspired by some of my Team Chocolate Milk teammates and I’m having a case of the “I should be there” blues. Last year, I swore this would be my year for a half ironmnan. I let fear get in my way and I didn’t even try. I’m not going to let that happen. So now I”m going to get in the pool and really work on my swimming so NEXT october I will be competing in a half ironman competition. When registration opens, I am going to sign up so I can’t chicken out. When you drop that much money on a race, you can’t really back out of it.
So what is your goal for the month of August? What do you need to do to achieve it?
