How To Wake Up Feeling Good

There’s nothing worse than waking up in the morning feeling as though you didn’t get any sleep because you’re still tired, achy, and generally unrested. Perhaps you’ve got a stiff neck or back, maybe you know you’re still going to feel groggy even after a good cup of coffee, or maybe you didn’t sleep at all in the first place. Whatever it is, it’s going to harm your day.

It might feel as though waking up feeling good is just something that happens to other people, or perhaps that it’s even a myth, but the reality is that you can make it happen with a few minor changes to your life and routine. With that in mind, keep reading to find out more.

Get Ready The Night Before

When you think about it, mornings begin the night before—what you do in the evening can make or break how you feel when the alarm goes off. So it’s a good idea to start with your bedtime routine and ensure you’ve got one in the first place. Once you do, it will help you. You’ve got to work out what truly relaxes you and put it in place.

That might be taking a hot shower, reading a few pages of a good book, or perhaps using CBD topicals for recovery so your aching muscles and other pains are dealt with before you go to bed, ensuring a better night’s sleep, for example. Once you’ve got a great bedtime routine – one you know you can stick to – your sleep should be better.

Wake Up The Right Way

It’s clear that getting to bed and sleeping the right way is vital, but it’s also essential to wake up the right way. Otherwise, you’ll undo the good you did the night before. If you currently get shocked away by an alarm that you snooze multiple times, it’s no wonder that you might not feel so great when you finally get out of bed, so why not put measures in place to avoid that and see what difference it makes?

For one thing, natural light can really help you wake up easily and gradually. Although you’ll probably not want to keep your curtains or blinds open all night (especially as that can mean waking up early during the summer), you can invest in automatic versions that you can program to open at the right time slowly, gently wake you as the natural light washes over you. Then, when you are up, do some stretches to get the kinks out of your muscles, and then drink a glass of water before you consume anything else. Now you’re ready for the day and should feel good!

Get Your Mind In The Right Place

Waking up feeling good isn’t just about your physical body, it’s about your mind and mental outlook as well – waking up in a bad mood is pretty much how you’ll stay for the day, so it makes sense that if you can switch and feel happier and more positive, that’s how you’ll be instead.

When you wake up, try to set an intention for the day ahead and practice gratitude for whatever you do or will do. It’s incredible how this little shift in thinking can change your entire outlook and help you wake up feeling good.

Sleep debt: are you suffering?

Sleep debt: are you suffering?

Monday morning, the alarm went off and I hit the snooze button.  Sunday night, I stayed up a little later because I was working on some blog projects and it messed with my routine a bit.  Sunday work, turned into a Monday morning snooze that lasted long enough for me to miss my morning workout.  What’s up with that? Monday afternoon, I start going through my e-mail and find something interesting about sleep deprivation.  Keep in mind, I didn’t think I was sleep deprived because I go to sleep at old lady time.  I’m usually in bed by 9pm if…
