Yesterday I posted about the Habenero Hundred 20k and how I quit the race.  Luckily, I was able to jump back in because I learned a lot from this experience.  All week, I talked about this race. Excitement was in the air.  I shed tears on Monday because when I went to sign up for the race the 20K was sold out and I had to “settle” for the 10k.  Ten minutes before the race started, I was able to upgrade my race to the 20K. Ironically, I quit the race at the 10K mark and I just walked away.… View Post

Happy Tuesday!  You are perfect the way you are. I don’t know about you, but I unintentionally on the “sly” say negative things about myself.  I find myself saying, “she had a baby around the same time as me and she’s doing this.” There’s so much focus on one moment in time and not enough focus on the bigger picture.  To make a whole, you must have the parts even the parts that aren’t so pretty. We live in a different world of perfectly curated pictures and other social media posts that make it seem like other people have their… View Post

On the first day of June, I set out to run or walk a mile every day for the month with the #StreakingWithTheCoolKids challenge. My motivation to run has been completely gone because I’ve been having some trouble with running since having the baby. I’m slower and it’s frustrating. I guess the only reason it’s so upsetting is that I know what I’m capable of doing. I thought I would come back stronger and faster than I did before, but I was wrong. There’s been some pain with the running too but I’ve seemed to have worked through those issues… View Post

What’s the point? When things aren’t going my way, this is how I feel. It’s easy to question why to continue the path or even why to keep trying at something. Wondering what is the point, is the point. I won’t sugar coat things for you. Things haven’t been going my way. Every time I feel like I’ve made it over one hurdle then I feel like I’m hit with another roadblock. Life is a tricky thing and navigating it gets rough for me. I’m a sensitive person. I have a hard exterior, but I do take on other people’s… View Post

Happy Monday!  It’s time to kick start the week and make something happen.  I’m a huge sports person and watching sports gives me warm fuzzy feelings.  Last night was the Super Bowl and the winter Olympics are coming up.  I’m filled with all kinds of warm feelings on the inside.  I don’t think I’ve ever made it through an Olympic game without shedding some tears.  Just knowing people worked so hard to achieve their dreams and they finally made it without even standing on the podium is enough to move me.  But when I see a medal ceremony, it’s hard… View Post
