Veggie tots, what’s the deal?

If you follow me on Instagram stories (you totally should, username is webeatfat1) you have seen I’ve been trying out the veggie tots. I thought I should take one for the team so you don’t have to spend $3.50 if you don’t want to take the chance.

Don’t worry, I’m going to answer the big question:

I tried two versions of the veggie tots: broccoli and cauliflower veggie tots. FYI: These are not adult foods. This is a way for adults to sneak veggies to their kids and think nothing about it. I’m not saying adults won’t enjoy them, but this is a KIDS food.

I say this because the nutritional information behind this product isn’t bad, but it’s basically the same as eating a regular potato tot. You do get one full serving of veggies with each serving.  FYI:  It’s easy to bust the portions on these things.  Don’t get caught up in the fact that it’s a veggie tot because it’s still a processed vegetable.

I made my tots in my air fryer (link)! I still love that think.

After two weeks of deliberation, I have decided that I do like the veggie tots but I prefer the broccoli tots. I’ll be honest with you, they both kind of taste the same. It must be that modified corn starch thing the tots have going on to hold them together. Cauliflower tastes like nothing to me so I did like how the broccoli tots tasted like something.

I do think this would be an excellent kid food and an okay adult food.  The price is a little high for the amount you get, along with the serving size.  BUT I do think these are good.  Obviously, I still have the urge to buy them.  And I guess it’s a great way to cut back on the carbs.

Have you seen the veggie tots in stores?  Have you tried them?
